Renowned author and lecturer Deepak Chopra, MD, has achieved international acclaim as an expert in mind-body medicine. Here he introduces you to the practice of Ayurveda, a system of health care that treats the whole person, operating on the guiding principle that the mind exerts the deepest influence on the body. Dr. Chopra addresses such questions as: What are the mechanics of perception? What is the body and what is the mind? Does the soul really exist?

You've got to believe.
Yes, this is something which, in order to be effective, you've got to understand and believe in advance. In these tapes Dr. Chopra is a showman and gives explanations and advice in simplistic form for a tenet that really isn't new, however, the audience is and perhaps those are who've been targeted. It isn't difficult to lean toward the belief we're, ourselves, responsible for our own future and thus our health.
Ok, so I'm a subatomic particle, now what !
I just didn't get it at all. I found these tapes to be very vague on advice and non-existent as far as usable information. His lecture was more a lecture about physics and miscellaneous facts than it was about how to integrate and improve the Mind, Body and Soul. He implies that you can regenerate your body but I find it to be a simply stupid statement. There is no way the torn meniscus in my knee will ever regenerate itself or allow me to be the star basketball player I'd like to be. He seems like a likeable guy but I just wonder about who he thinks he's helping with such flakey information. There are some good facts scattered among the 2 hours of tapes but I'd say don't bother. I'm watching Dr. Andrew Weil's tapes now and he has much more practical advice. Skip this tape........... John Bercik
Excellent
I thoroughly enjoy the good doctors lectures and his general ideas about the mind / body philosophy. I liken his stuff to Rene Descartes and Immannual Kant will an eastern twist - and that's why I like this tape in particular. The reduction of the human body to quantum fluctuations is well presented in layman's language. Good stuff Deepak.
