Derek and the Dominos died with Duane..
First off i don't agree with the gordon fella down below or the person who said that remixing these tracks brings the bass and drums down, I can hear them just as well..that being said this is a pretty good box set..even though I only care for one song on the jams disc and one or two on the third disc..The original Layla and assorted love songs is great and included(obviously) but why does everyone put so much emphasis on Eric Clapton, Duane Allman MADE Derek and the Dominos, pushed Clapton further than anyone and just had fun. Without him there would be no Layla(he played lead and both slide takes at the end) and well there wouldn't be a box set for this great music..Once again Clapton takes all the credit. Clapton begged Allman do join him, but he didn't..sorry just rambling, but to get to the point, all in all it is a great box set, I mean anything with Howard is great.. REMEMBER DUANE ALLMAN

Layla and other Assorted Love Songs - Derek and the Dominos
This album is more than a classic, it's a must have to complete a classic collection. Eric Clapton poors his heart out over his one true love. The Dominos are the final touch. Duane Allman was alive and an intrecal entity on this album. I highly recommend this album to any Eric Clapton or Allman Bros. fam. To me, IT'S THE BEST!!! I was there when it was first released and I fell in love with the album, the songs, I felt the pain of unrequited love and immediately became a bigger Eric Clapton fan than ever before.

Buried treasure on Jams CD.
This is a must for any Clapton, Duane Allman fan. The Jams CD is worth it alone. Jam # 5 will blow you away, Allman hits the notes he was famous for. This is buried treasure that is waiting on you. An All Time Classic Just Got Better!!
What more can possibly be said about this album? You have two of the greatest guitarists of all time jamming together. The alternate versions of "Have you ever loved a woman" & "Tell the truth" are amazing. The real find here is the disc containing "The Jams". A couple of these jams have Dicky Betts joining in with the band. Clapton's guitar is searing throughout, and if anyone wants to know just how great a guitar player Duane Allman was, this is the album to listen to. The version of "Little Wing" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. If you are a classic rock fan this album is a must. You won't stop playing it. You can keep your Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde & yes, even Eddie Van Halen. These two blow them all away!!!
