Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Joey McIntyre is a modern throwback to the classic song-and-dance men of show business, a veteran who has starred on Broadway (in "Wicked") and off (Jonathan Larson's "tick, tick, Boom!"), TV (Dancing with the Stars, Boston Public), film (Tony and Tina's Wedding, The Fantasticks), records (selling 35 million as the youngest New Kid on the Block and a hit solo single, "Stay the Same") and the concert stage. Inspired to do the album by seeing Frank Sinatra perform at L.A.'s Greek Theater just a few years before the legendary crooner's death, McIntyre covers these songs "his way." "This is the music I grew up listening to," he says. "These songs are still so fresh. We tried to respect where they came from, but also give it a modern pop sensibility that reflects the times. It's not a throwback. This record is essentially who I am." McIntyre performed several of the songs from the album during the 38-city Dancing with the Stars--The Tour. "I always wanted to study dance and the show was like going to school. I really learned ballroom dancing. I knew I'd be able to perform before millions of people. I just didn't know it would be 20 million." On Talk to Me, he leads with a firm right hand straight to your heart, launching the next round of his career as a 21st century song and dance man.

Reviews:

Big Band the way it should be done!
I have been a fan of NKOTB since the beginning and therefore, of Joey. When at their recent reunion concert I picked up this CD because I love Big Band! The music is directly influenced by Joe's love for Frank Sinatra and in my humble opinion, he sounds better than Frankie any day (sorry Frankie fans). I hope to see another album like this from Joe and if I ever get to meet him face to face again, I'll tell him so! Joe's voice was made for this type of music and had he been born in a different era he would have no doubt been a headliner! If you love Big Band, this CD is for you, even if you have no idea who Joe is!

oh no...
joey mcintyre has a very good singing voice, one that is made to belt out ballads and, in another life, show tunes on the broadway stage. but he is not (i repeat, NOT) a crooner in the classic style of the rat pack, and he shouldn't be attempting to replicate that sound. this is unfortunate because joey does have talent, it is just not being utilized at all in this album. let's hope that he is given an opportunity to let loose on some power ballads on the new NKOTB album (i can't believe i just typed those words).

The Music Joey Should Always Do!
You know, I have been a huge fan of Joey's since I was 11 and I have followed his solo career quite eagerly. I own his other albums, but I think this one is by far the best. This genre is so fitting to his style and voice. I absolutely LOVE it! It is fresh and new, but old style all at the same time. I really think Joey should sing this type of music all the time. I know that I would listen! If you are a fan of his or new to his music, or even really love the old songs redone, I would highly recommend this CD. I would buy it again in a heart beat!

Romantic and Fun Songs
Joey has an amazing voice. I love how he adds his own style to the classic songs. My favorite song is Moonriver.

Joey mcIntyre, Talk to Me :CD
This is a wonderful CD. It's of old music, but Joe, Sings it so well. I didn't think he coluld sing these songs. I'm been a fan for along time, and I still am. His voice is amazing. I love it.
