The Glove that I've Been Waiting For
This is the first time that I've ever (ever!) spent more than $15 on a pair of gloves. I only wish that I had bought these sooner in the season. I really like these gloves. They are well-designed and well-built. The protection from the cold is superb. As some already noted, they will perform well down into sub-freezing temperatures. Thanks to these factors, I'm now much more confident about choosing to ride in the morning. I've even given up the unlimited-ride metrocard that I kept as a standby for very cold days. You won't be disappointed with these.

Everything I could have wanted in a glove (except the high price tag)
Even on windy days with a chill measuring in the teens, my fingers feel fine. Before I got these, I had been using a pair of Ironclad cold-conditions gloves, which were praised by Bicycling magazine, and they worked fine until the freezing point. After several rides which resulted in a loss of feeling in the tips of my pinky fingers for 36 hours at a time, I decided it was time for a change :) Anyway, I got these, and I've had no such problems ever since. Great, albeit expensive, item.

Pricey, but worth it
Before I purchased these lovely lobster gloves, I scrimped and bought a pair of "winter" biking gloves that cost half as much - they failed badly even at a balmy 35 degrees Fahrenheit. These Pearl Izumi's are ideal for between 10 and 30 degrees - they work fine outside of that range, but only for shorter rides. Anyway, they're very well made and look great.

Warm, weatherproof, and makes you a nicer person
These gloves are great. They are incredibly warm. Too warm for anything above 20°F though. Winter gloves through and through. They are also quite weatherproof. The lobster claw takes a little getting used to as your fingers don't move the way your body expects. I ride a single speed, but I would imagine that some shifters would be a challenge to operate with these on. My only real complaint is that they make it impossible to give the finger while riding. Some driver honks at you for riding in the road like you're supposed to, and all you can do is wave a lobster claw at them like a chump. Highly recommended for polite winter riders.
