best action movie ever made
i watch this whenever its on cable, i dont care if i've seen it 100 times (i have) and my dad likes it a lot too.however i would suggest you cover your ears now and then because the language does get a little ROUGH if you know what i mean, but after you watch this one you will say "arnold who" because bruce wilson is just THAT good. if you haven't you should also check out die hard 3 and terminator as well. its a real treat. see you at the movies!
An Action Classic
'Die Hard' is a must see show for anyone who loves action movies.
Bruce Willis stars as New York police Officer John McClane. He and his wife, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia) are separated. She has taken a job transfer to Los Angeles. John travels to the West Coast to visit her and the kids for the holidays.
The trip starts off with an appearance at her company Christmas party. This international firm is targeted by European terrorists who seize the office during the party. Officer McClane is not present in the room when the seizure occurs. When he hears what is going on, he starts targeting the bad guys.
This is full of excitement from start to finish. Willis does a great job as the hero. Reginald Veljohnson is another great character as LA Police Sgt. Al Powell. Although Powell is not central to the heroics, he is a good addition to the plot helping to inject a little humor and human touch into the show.
This is really a superb show. If you have not seen it, you are long overdue.
Great for the broadcasting classroom!
This is easy to use and a good instructional tool for any teacher who wants to teach the editing, shot selection, and visual story telling process.
Die Hard 1 is Without a Question must have DVD 5 Stars
After watching the second die hard before this one I felt nothing could beat that die hard in the series. Boy was I wrong. The first Die Hard in my opinion takes the cake for the best in the series. The second one had a great storyline and lots of action but this one kept you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Bruce Willis delivers another masterpiece here and I would put this in his top 3 movies of all time acting in. The movie does a great job developing in the first half hour and then the rest of the movie was nonstop action. This movie takes extreme to its finest. Another great part about this movie is some of the catch lines in the movie. Like Yippe Kia blank. Lots of funny lines by Bruce Willis as the movie goes on so you have a bit of comedy and action to along with it. Most of the time you have a feeling of what the end is going to be like but with this movie I had no idea what was going to happen. Overall a great movie and one you must pick up if you have the chance.
Best of the Series. Period.
The original Die Hard is a classic film that is required viewing for action junkies. The story follows John McClain, a NY police officer visiting his wife in California for the holidays. Their relationship is on the rocks and he is trying to smooth things over in time for Christmas. But his marital affairs turn out to be the least of his worries as he soon discovers that European terrorists have hijacked the building. As everyone is quarantined and held hostage in the lobby, McClain escapes their wrath and finds himself alone. He knows what he must do and he uses his extensive skills (combined with a bit of luck and directorial favors) to rise to the challenge and neutralize the situation.
The film is very well crafted and contains something for everyone. It is surprising just how well this film has held up over the years. It's still a highly enjoyable, tense, action-packed thrill ride. This film is a timeless masterpiece of the genre.
