Levi Changed the Fit...
I bought this pair of jeans a couple years ago and wore them until they got a hole in them. I loved the fit. I ordered a new pair in the same size and when they came in the mail was really disappointed that Levi had changed the fit. The new fit is much looser. The size down didn't fit either. It's too bad they changed this style. The new design is quite different.
Your Mother's 550's
I ride horses for a living and have worn 550's for several years. First of all there are 2 different kinds, 100% cotton with slight tapered leg and 98% cotton, 2% lycra with boot cut, they are both considered Relaxed Fit. I purchased my new 550's from Amazon and their not so great. The cut is not the normal 550, the boot cut is more flared and the longs are not as long. I looked to see where they were manufactured and it is Egypt. Levi, manufactures 550's several places, Egypt, Mexico and Brazil. I have found out over the years that the ones manufactured in Mexico have the better fabric that is heavier and what most of us have come to expect of Levis, so hence the cheaper price. Hope this helps the confusion. I'll wear these, but won't purchase 550's from Amazon again. It's not Amazon's fault, they are just trying to get them cheaper for the consumer,you get what you pay for.
No more Levis for me
Thin, poorly sized. I purchased the exact same size and style from the same place I purchased my last pair of Levis about 5 years ago (I lived in them and they need replacing). Thin, thin, thin fabric -- awful -- whatever happened to cotton denim. And they don't fit the same at all - too big in the waist.
great fit!
This style of Levi's has an excellent fit for my athletic body type ( small waist and upper hip, and bigger thighs. It's always tough to find pants. I'd imagine that they would work well for those with a more pear shaped figure. The fabric is very comfortable and they look mighty sharp as well. They have just the right rise, which is really a nice thing these days. They are not too high in the waist, yet they steer well clear of the plumber's crack design! i ordered 4 more pairs and was satisfied. The do run a little large.
Jeans
Love these jeans. They are sized a little large but after one wash and some time in the drier, they are perfect. My favorite jeans at the moment!!!!
