I really like this vest. I spent a week in CA where temp ranged from 40 to 60 wearing this vest and a long sleeve shirt and I felt very comfortable. Then, I came home to the mid west where temp was below 30. Walking home more than a mile from the train station, I could feel the chill on my arms but the vest kept my mid section nice and warm. As for the fit, I'm 5 feet 9 with a 42 inch chest and 32 inch waist and the medium size fits me very well. This fits much more snug than other medium size columbia products I own which is what i was looking for. Another think I like about it is that it zips my old columbia jacket shell, so now I can just zip this in instead of the bulky fleece lining. Overall, it's comfortable and great for a mild winter day as well as just wearing it around the house or at work for extra warmth. I highly recommend it.
