Reviews:

NICE COAT
This was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. He loved it. The color I purchased looked a little different than what is shown on the website. It arrived in a timely fashion and we were both very pleased with it. This is a lighter jacket than what it looks like in the picture, but it is still of great quality.

Mountain Parka Review
Mountain Parka review. Firstly, the other reviewer is all wet! Wet because they are reviewing a different jacket on the wrong product page. That jacket is ASIN: B000VR7OTM. It's a natural enough mistake because both are labeled as Woolrich Men's Mountain Parkas! So maybe they're just a little damp! Now to my review of this Mt Parka. I have now with this purchase 4 Woolrich Jackets. One from 1981, a waist length jacket, that I still wear, one from 1983 which is exactly like the current. But in forest green, made in America at that time and still very wearable, and a cotton saddle jacket from 91'. So with this it makes four and I'm very happy to report, that although made in China it is top quality and no difference in that quality can I notice between this one and the forest green one from 83! Except that now Woolrich has included two inside pockets. One large enough for gloves, the other for cell phone, sun glasses, or your wallet! I call this parka a water resistant wind breaker, with inner lining! I'm located in So. Calif. So my use of a jacket like this is for our infrequent rainy days, or our chilly autumn, & winter days. Plenty of times I'll use this leaving the umbrella behind, because of the adjustable hood and water resistance. Not water proof, but enough resistance to get you from the parking lot into the store. I've also walked in the rain on purpose, when those moods hit and although the water will eventually penetrate on a 45 minute jaunt, it blocks out just enough that I'm still pretty dry when I get home. I've also used this on trips to the snow with a sweater or fleece so it can double for heavier duty as well. But if you live in snowy parts of the country, its perhaps to light for your winters! So, there you have it! A happy camper with his fourth Woolrich Jacket. BTW, the color I got was Nutmeg. And the photo is very accurate in color representation. Maybe a tad darker in person. And lastly, about the "other" Woolrich Men's Mountain Parka. That sells for $69 currently and is a 60/40 cotton/nylon blend. {not as water resistant-not all outer nylon} Although I don't own that one, it is difficult for me to accept the other reviewer's statement about the quality, simply because for over 28 years and now four jackets later I can attest to Woolrich's quality, even though products are now made elsewhere! Woolrich also has a great return policy; when they ship via UPS they include a prepaid UPS return mailer for our convenience. But they do deduct the mailing cost. Very handy for returns or exchanging! Good luck, hope this helped someone!

sad imitation
Bought this 'cause Sierra Designs doesn't make their 60/40 parka anymore. It's a sad, foreign-made imitation in non-breathing nylon. It's zipper is cheap, snaps are cheap and, within the first month, the velcro is becoming unstitched. What a sad statement on the venerable mountain parka. Save your money and use a large plastic garbage bag instead....
