GREAT ANTI-BLISTER SOCKS
My husband has always had a problem with blisters on his feet when he walks too much. After a trip to London, where my husband got a severe blister on our first day there and almost ruined our trip, I did some research and found these socks. He used these socks on our next trip to Sicily and has been wearing them daily since then. Since having these socks no matter how much he walks he never gets a blister. Yes, I would recommend washing and air drying them. However, my husband has been using the same 12 pairs of socks for 5 years and he is just now needing to replace them, so with proper care they will last a long time and you'll more than get your moneys worth, not only in wear, but also in never getting another blister. I highly recommend these.
Greatest Travel Socks
I have worn these socks everywhere from Nepal to Africa to Latvia, with everything from hiking boots to dress shoes. They are very comfortable and not too warm. And best of all for travel, they wash and dry quickly (dry usually overnight). I have rated them only 4 stars because they are not extremely durable. Because they are thinner than most hiking socks, they wear out more quickly - they usually last me about 2 month-long trips. But the ease of drying and comfort are worth it in my opinion. Lastly, I bought these on Amazon because I could not find another retailer that carried size small. ( I wear a women's 7 and the smalls are just big enough -- when you hang dry them; the mediums were too big).
Delicate but effective
I use these socks underneath my motorcycle boots or workboots. They keep my feet dry and comfortable well past a 12 hour shift. They a very light and thin, even though they are double layered. They are also the only socks I've worn while riding that allows me to feel the breeze through my vented boots.
Two warnings though. Because this sock is so thin/light it lets you know "exactly" how comfortable (or not) your shoes really are. You also need to be very careful washing them. I only wash/dry them by hand or on the delicate cycle. Using that method my socks have lasted over a year now with only one or two unraveling thread scares.
Highly overpriced; poor quality for the cost
After only 2 machine washings these socks are showing great signs of wear. They are comfortable and do a good job of keeping my feet cool, but at $10/pair they are about 4x overpriced.
