A Different Me is the third studio album by R&B singer and songwriter Keyshia Cole. The road to riches wasn't easy for Keyshia yet her hard work and great voice are her successful rewards. Besides the release of a 2008 album, the new season of her BET reality show, touring and personal appearances, Keyshia is gearing up for the production of a movie based on her life. The lead single off the album, "Playa Cardz Right" featuring Tupac, originally appeared on Tupac's Pac's Life, and this version was rearranged by the hugely successful Grammy nominated Cole with producers Ron Fair plus Carvin and Ivan.

Another one
Besides a couple songs, not a bad cd. Worth the money. She always does a good job with her music. She deserves at the least to be nominated for something.
She stepped out!!
Ms. Cole stepped out of being a singer with a great voice. She stepped into a realm of control(ala Janet Jackson). I applaud her decisions on getting rid of the same ole'songs and trying something new! I do believe we are seeing the TOTAL maturation on a ARTIST!. O.K. now thats thats out of the way....this album is for the fans only!, it is hit and miss, BUT the hits are better than the misses, by far! Ms. Cole will be around here for a while and this album proves it.
Be patient.
A Different Me grows on you. Just remember...the production and songwriting should get better with ablbum #4, so if this is it in the meantime I'm happy and I'm sure you will be too.
3-1/2 stars -- As Ginuwine asked, "What's so different?"
Now, don't get it twisted; Keyshia Cole's latest album A Different Me isn't bad -- although some might say that's what I think because I gave it three-and-a-half stars instead of five. When I reviewed Just Like You, I said Keyshia was an artist that was good but a tad overrated (in fact, I gave all three of her albums the same rating), and it's the same case here.
But there are a good number of quality tracks on here, like "No Other" and "Oh-Oh, Yeah-Yea" (featuring Nas). And "Erotic" is an interesting take on the sexual subject; speaking of that, "Brand New" is also good for getting the mood right. The duet with Monica, "Trust", is also pretty good even though it isn't the easiest to tell the difference between both of their voices.
There are also a few songs I can do without, like the corny "Thought You Should Know"; and "Make Me Over" doesn't go anywhere. Also, "Playa Cardz Right" (originally from Pac's Life) really has no business on this album. A Different Me IS above-average and it's more than enough to satisfy already big fans of Ms. Cole, but since she has never had THE greatest voice, it really doesn't sound much different from anything else out there after all. B.I.F.

Great From Start to Finish
I have followed the career of Ms. Cole from the first cd, and have been listening to her work ever since. This cd stood out from the others however, she sounded mature and not as sad, and the songs varied from hip-hop to beautiful love songs. This is one of the few cds, that when I put it on, I have to listen to it straight through, and it works whether I am driving in my car or relaxing at home. After listening to this cd, all I can say "Please Don't Stop" making music, keep it coming Ms. Cole.
New Keyshia Cole Fan
I bought this album, basically for track #8, Playa Cardz Right. Absolutely love that cut. I can't wait to see how she grows as an artist. As a side note, she would have been wonderful as Etta James in Cadillac Records (forgive me Beyonce fans.) I was born in the 60's so I am accustomed to real singers, not the synthesizer performers. Keyshia has a real voice and with maturity and good material, I believe she will be one of the stars of her generation.
