Prodcut Description: [More Information ...] Second only to Riverdance as an international Irish showbiz phenomenon, previous installments of this Platinum-selling extravaganza have become beloved PBS standards. The original buxom quartet of female singers, Lisa, Maev, Orla, and Chloe, have duly been joined by Hayley and are, as usual, backed by a full symphony orchestra and choir, plus enough traditional instruments (the house fiddler, Mairead, is a powerhouse) to keep things legit. The material ranges from folkloric ("Dúlaman" is best known from Clannad's legendary rendering), to a standard from another Celtic nation ("Caledonia," Dougie McLean's love letter to his native Scotland), to classical lite (Handel's poignant "Laschia Ch'io Pianga"), to movie hits ("Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in a delicately lovely, a cappella, close-harmony treatment), to homegrown New Age (Enya's "Newgrange"). Most tracks are produced to turn, presented in the aural equivalent of Technicolor or day-glo, in which colors pop while diverging ever so slightly from nature. In short, although the album offers fresh material, it covers old ground -- but this is exactly what the act's target audience expects and desires. Fans of acoustic folk would likely find the prevailing aesthetic a touch garish, but fans of Sarah Brightman and Il Divo will be diverted and thrilled. The deluxe package offers four bonus tracks, three of them live, plus a silver claddagh charm. --Christina Roden Celtic Woman Photos More from Celtic Woman Celtic Woman Walking in the Air, Chloe Lisa

Reviews:
Beautiful music! I alredy love Celtic music, without a doubt, and although I'm not always a huge fan of modern interpretations of it, I am a fan of David Downes's arrangements. He always has really nice harmonies, and he write for the people that are performing it. At least, it sounds like it. :)
The ladies performing do a wonderful job, too. Mairead is always inspirational. She's just fantastic! Lisa Kelly is a fabulous singer, and so are the others, Hayley, Chloe, Orla and Meav, who has recently become my favorite. I switch around a lot. :) It kind of depends on my mood. Meav is just fantastic on Dulaman. What an incredible range!
Anyway, it's wonderful music for people who like Celtic music or just new music in general. Some of the stuff would fit right in a musical. There's really something for anybody who loves vocal music.
That's it in a nutshell. if I ever get the recording, I would be happy to review it! Until then, PISS OFF! If I ever get the recording, I would be happy to tell you ewhat I think about it. Until then, PISS OFF! A New Journey Another exceptioinal product produced by the Celtic Woman creators. A nice blending of traditional and new with excellent vaocals by all the performers. Regardless if you own other CW discs, this one is a 'must have'. Great follow up A New Journey by Celtic Woman is fifty-eight minutes and fifty-six seconds long and was released on January 30, 2007. A New Journey went to #4 on the US 200 Billboard chart and was certified gold. Also A New Journey reached #4 on the U.S. Billboard Top Internet Albums and #1 on the U.S. Billboard World Music Albums .Celtic Woman includes a new member to the group; Hayley Westenra. Once again you have mix of tradition Irish music (sung in Gaelic), non-traditional Irish music and a few songs that have nothing to do with Irish music. Good examples are Beyond The Sea and Over The Rainbow. Still this is a great CD to listen to and I would recommend this to anybody. A New Journey by Celtic Woman gets an AAA+++.
