Reviews:
A "Best Of Live" Rose Tattoo and AC/DC: the two big names in Australian Blues-rock. But compared to Rose Tattoo, AC/DC would be a progressive rock band ! Yes, Angry Anderson & co play the most straightforward three-chord blues-rock you can imagine with an added punk-attitude. Without the ever-present slide guitar they would probably sound like the Australian version of the Sex Pistols ! Now that all genres are being mixed together and with the right video on MTV these geezers could finally become the hype ! You get your monies worth!! The boys go all out for this one. Very raw, high energy, lots of power. Guaranteed to get your blood flowing. Absolute mayhem. Angry kicks out the vocals despite having to work hard to be heard over the guitars. Which he makes reference to several times. He says "Need a little help on the vocals" and "It's getting hard pushing uphill...(on the vocals)." I love that. A true live performance. After the boys get warmed up there is no stopping them. All the songs you want to hear! They ...(getting a bit older/rough life) but they still play as well as ever. Very satified. Much better than expected. No pretenses, just good old fashioned Rock n' Roll! Fire Down Under...it still burns! One of the most underrated blue/rock bands of the late 70's/early 80's are back with a vengeance! Rose Tattoo , led by vocalist Gary "Angry" Anderson are here in all their denim and leather clad glory , recorded live at a music festival in Germany in the summer of '99. The band rip through some of their best material , plus a great cover of the Rolling Stones "Street Fighting Man". White hot slide guitar , gargled with razor blades vocals , and a randy Teutonic crowd make this a must buy! |
