Reviews:
Much more than the silly title cartoon.
This tape contains 30 minutes of the very best and rarest of vintage animation -- NOT AVAILABLE ON DVD -- mostly from Max Fleischer, the leading competition to Disney before Warner Bros. The title piece is just a short joke, but that's followed by short-skirted Betty Boop in Crazy Town, a tour-de-farce that puts Bizarro World to shame. Next up is very early stop-motion animation with a metal-bird that eats car parts - and then lays an "egg" - in "You Auto Lay an Egg." This is followed by one of the cutest early color cartoons, Small Fry, set to the song of the same name. "Frogland" also has stop-motion from 1923 Russia, and is pretty bizarre. Finally, "Cobweb Hotel" features a spider inviting several flies into his parlor. This stuff is a must for serious animation / art students or fans of vintage film or 1920s culture.
Hilarious
I saw this and it kept me laughing for a long time. It's the funniest thing ever to be made, but I'm going to have to give it a 3/5 because it had other old cartoon clips which made up the rest of the tape which are just stupid. But like I said, Bambi Meets Godzilla is hilarious and if I were just to rate that clip, it would get a 5/5
0 stars, This one's a Doorstop
C'mon. This "movie" was terrible. Where must I start? How about the title feature: horribly overrated. The length of the movie? A pathetic 20 min. In fact, after viewing this film, I was compelled to take my own life. I am not even sure if "olde tyme cartoon" aficionados would appreciate this disaster. The animation is choppy and irritating, and the dialogue might as well have been non-existant. Tool fanatics might find the quaint claymation sequences partially amusing, but I think they were wrought for some darker agenda.(Something along the lines of Mind Control or Evil Robots) And, somewhere between "You Auto Lay an Egg" and "Cobweb Hotel" I realized that there was no god and we are all living for naught. Don't rent this garbage, and certainly DO NOT BUY IT! Go waste your money on a "good" movie, such as Kangaroo Jack. You know, he's stolen the money and he's not givin' it back. I just saw "Bambi Vs..." approximately 33 minutes ago, and it took me longer to log on(Dial-up)than it did to watch this flick. Please don't encourage the country's booming suicide rate. DON'T BUY IT
Waste of tape
"Bambi meets Godzilla" is 2 munites of OK, the rest of the tape is USELESS!!20s and 30s old boring clips we all got tired of years ago.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!
A Crazy Godzilla Feature
I saw this movie, and it was really, really boring, and only about 1 minute to 2 minutes long. All what happens is Bambi is eating grass, and then Godzilla puts his foot down, and stamps Bambi down, and well kills him. I reccomend just buying this or renting Godzilla And Other Classic Movie Monsters, because this film was so short they squeezed it into the dvd.
