Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Jimmy Buffet has become better known for his roles as a bestselling author and seafaring adventurer than as a songsmith, which is why this 15-song live collection could not have arrived at a better time. Recorded in Nantucket, it revives all the charming, affable elements that launched a legion of Parrotheads, a Hawaiian-shirt-wearing following that's come to rival Deadheads for fanaticism. The songs are lush, humorous, and frequently reference the props we've come to expect from Buffett--bikini-clad women, rum drinks, and low-slung hammocks. While not exactly the world's best vocalist, the one-time college cheerleader uses a deft, antic hand to create witty scenarios and sling light-handed barbs aimed at everything from mall culture to his own foibles. The results are curiously captivating. Besides, who can really resist another round of "Margaritaville"? --Jaan Uhelszki

Meet Me In Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection

Jimmy Buffett may have made his millions, but that doesn't mean that he has eased up on his workload. After releasing 33 albums, mounting grueling annual tours, and fashioning an entire industry and lifestyle out of his signature song "Margaritaville," Buffett trots out this two-...
Feeding Frenzy
Feeding Frenzy

Any Parrothead worth his or her salt-rimmed margarita glass knows that the central experience of being a Jimmy Buffett fan is attending his concerts. As Buffett mentions in the liner notes to this live set, it's like the circus coming to town each summer, except that in the case ...

Songs You Know by Heart : Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hit(s)

Critics have always been singularly unkind to Jimmy Buffett. Or at least they have since the singer became immune to their jabs, commanding a nation of Parrotheads who sell out his shows, snap up his records and books, and eat and drink in his nightclubs in Key West and New Orlea...
A-1-A
A-1-A

Jimmy Buffett's albums are almost always happily hedonistic, but every now and then even he admits that there's hell to pay for all the high jinks. On A1A, an album named for the coastal highway that ends just blocks from the singer's onetime home in Key West, Florida, that reali...

License to Chill

Country music's infatuation with the puka-shell rock of Jimmy Buffett has been one of the genre's less fortunate indulgences. Most of Nashville's hat acts do little more than dip their toe in the water and do nothing to build upon Buffett's signature sounds. That's why License to...

Live at Texas Stadium

Recorded live at Dallas's Texas Stadium in 2004, this long-delayed release is worth the wait. Over 15 tracks, the three superstars sing together, separately, and in pairs for what turns out to be both a musical treat and a long draw of fun. Strait, who normally stands stock still...

Take The Weather With You

What you see is rarely what you get with Jimmy Buffett. While he may contend that he is the king of slackers, a modern day Dean Martin whipping up fizzy rum drinks under the palm trees in a silk Hawaiian shirt, this best-selling author and raconteur is actually the thinking man's...

Buffett sold his promise as a real-world singer-songwriter God knows how many boats ago, but 1977's Changes remains one of his last stands before plunging into a sea of parrotheads, "Fins," and personal empire building. "Margaritaville" was the deceptively lighthearted hit, but S...

Reviews:

Missed the show? catch the CD!
this is a great live CD. a good mix of songs. not as much fun as Feeding Frenzy because it's missing a lot of the concert banter but it flows better as a stand alone CD this way. if you are stuck in the snow and want to relive a Buffett show, crank up the blender and get out Feeding Frenzy. if you are in the car and just want to chill, pop in Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays. not a bad cut on this CD and just fun to listen to. Especially the covers - been waiting forever for him to record the Southern Cross cover, he's been doing in concert for ages.

Jimmie's Best Live Album
I have almost every live Jimmy Buffett album and this is still his best!!! Song selection and sound quality are top notch. The only song I miss not having on here is "A Pirate Looks at Forty". Otherwise this is basically a greatest hits-live album. There are truly some execellent versions of classic songs on here and Buffett sounds like he's having the time of his life while singing these songs. This is the perfect album to play while you're on vacation or in the car driving to the beach!!

Buffett Live: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
This is one of my favorite Jimmy Buffett CD's! It's live from several different concert locations.

Great Buffett Live
A great sample of Buffett live, more laid back than Feeding Frenzy, but worth your money even if you have earlier live albums

Even for casual Buffett fans, his is a CD you must own
I bought Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (the title comes from the fact that Buffett performs most of his concerts on those days) shortly after it came out, and it still remains one of my all time favorite CDs after many years. In fact my household owns four copies of this CD, one per person. The live versions of many songs will make you a fan of some of Buffett's less notable studio cuts - Fruitcakes, One Particular Harbor, Coconut Telegraph and Brown Eyed Girl are much more energetic and fun than the studio versions. Margaritaville is definitely the best of the live versions that have been recorded.
