Everything in Between
Everything in Between

After the self-released Somedays and Twentythree Places, Nashville's Matt Wertz signed up with a proper label for Everything in Between. On his third full-length, the Missouri-bred troubadour mixes pop, folk, and blues into an easygoing, yet ebullient sound. As he exults on "The ...
Me + You + The World
Me + You + The World

Singer/songwriter Dave Barnes' music is an eclectic blend of soul-infused pop-rock built on melodies that stick in your head and refuse to leave. With two self-released albums and years of touring under his belt, his first official label release, Me & You & the World, is position...
Indiana
Indiana

While his friends were cramming economics, science, and business, Jon McLaughlin was studying piano, and his major-label debut confirms that the Indiana-bred singer/songwriter finished at the top of his class. Three years after his self-titled debut, which was the result of a com...
Some Mad Hope
Some Mad Hope

With rapturous romanticism and over-the-top, heart-on-sleeve emotion, Matt Nathanson can't decide whether he wants to be U2's Bono (particularly on the opening "Car Crash") or John Mayer (with whom he's toured as an opening act). Though his roots are in the folk coffeehouse, he p...

We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things

Since 2002's jaunty Waiting for My Rocket to Come, Jason Mraz has developed into a more mature, well-rounded pop artist. We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things is his most multi-dimensional work yet, covering everything from groove-based material to ballads. While tracks such as "Mak...
Little Voice
Little Voice

For many listeners, Little Voice will be their first exposure to this soulful singer/songwriter, but it's actually Sara Bareilles' second record. Her first, the self-released Careful Confessions, led to a deal with Epic. Since then, Bareilles has opened for Marc Broussard and Mar...

Undiscovered

Young James Morrison has "success story" written all over him. Drawing influence from soul greats like Cat Stevens, Otis Redding, and Van Morrison, debut album Undiscovered reveals this Rugby-born vocalist has the sort of world-weary voice and songwriting chops to take the Later....
Carencro
Carencro

Carencro, named for Marc Broussard's Louisiana hometown, is at times a swamp-pop masterpiece, with leadoff track "Home" stealing the mud-crusted show. What happens in the 11 songs that follow, though, could redeem major record labels from their bullying reputations. Because inste...

Reviews:

Amazing!
This is definitely a FAVORITE in my music collection and I have a lot! Dave's music is fun and original. A must have for any music lover! I highly recommend buying "Chasing Mississippi!" If you haven't seen him in concert you should! He's even better live and absolutely hilarious. His new cd is coming out April 1 and I'm sure it will be just as good as "Brother Bring The Sun" and "Chasing Mississippi," if not better! Eh...
All the other reviews were so highly praising of this CD, so I got it. To be honest, I couldn't get into it. It has its shining moments, to be sure, but after a few listens I put it back on the shelf.

Great album -- buy it!
I bought this album a few months ago having never before heard of Dave Barnes -- I'm glad I did. This is an amazing collection of music that is good to listen to from beginning to end. A Lot Like Me and Greyhound are a couple of favorites, but every song is good. Buy it - you won't regret it.

Dave Barnes is AWESOME.
Dave Barnes is probably one of the nicest, most hysterical and humble musicians that I've ever met. I've seen him in concert four times, and each and every time we've taken pictures, talked backstage and got to hang out for a little while. He's almost as amazing on his CDs as he is live- I highly recommend anyone and everyone to buy not only Chasing Mississippi, but "Brother, Bring the Sun" --because it's incredible, too. Support him, he's an amazing guy :) -Also, if you ever have to chance to see him live, go do it. Go, and see. Immediately. -Check out Matt Wertz, Marc Broussard and the Gabe Dixon Band too :)

Will not leave my cd player...
Wow. This cd is nothing less than spectacular. If you are not familiar with Dave Barnes buy this cd and fall in love. *Track 4, Someday Sarah* is my favorite as it sounds so familiar and fresh. Buy this cd, get in your car roll down the windows and go for a drive... it's that good.
