Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
2008 digitally remastered and expanded Legacy Edition of this album from the R&B legends formerly known as The Jackson 5 (their defection to CBS left Jermaine and their old name behind with the Motown empire). Includes two bonus tracks. On this 1978 album, The Jacksons were turned loose to write and produce themselves, and the result is their best studio album ever. The dance tracks like 'Blame It On The Boogie' and the hit 'Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)' still sound fresh while the ballads are heartfelt and smooth. The album peaked at #3 on the Billboard albums chart in 1979. 10 tracks.

Reviews:

MJ at his finest......
I ordered this CD after Michael Jackson's death because I figured the prices would be astronomical. Well, it wasn't, and it arrived ahead of schedule. I can't name my favorites because that would mean I would list every song on the CD. Great music - he will be missed.

John Luongo Remixes are da Bomb!
This collection contains the remixes of "Blame it on the Boogie" and "Shake Your Body" by John Luongo, as mentioned in other reviews. However, I just wanted to add that it's wonderful to get these remixes included in any collection. Back in the day when this album was first released, John's remixes of these songs were HARD to get - they were like prized possessions of any DJ lucky enough to have gotten a copy. They were very rarely found in stores, and most "DJ Pools" as they were known then had less than enough to go around. These cuts were so hot they smoked on the turntables back then. Finding them here now gives me a huge trip down memory lane, and allows me to finally fulfill a 30-year yearning to have these remixes in my collection. It's probable that these have been available for a while in different collections or releases, but I'm just now revisiting them so they are new to me. :) I have met John Luongo personally and he is a talented producer and all-around nice person. These tracks are a testament to his great remix work.

Just buy it.
This was my favorite album when I was in junior high or elementary school (I can't remember which), and it has some of the best of Michael as he and his brothers were growing up. You need it in your repertoire- just get it.

Destiny
This is from 1978, I like it very much, the Jackson's did their own material and they did a good job!! Michael is brilliant as usual. The dance remixes however, I'm not too keen on but they are alright.

Loved Destiny.
This album brings back so many memories. I used to dance with the purest joy to Michael joyous vocals on "Blame It on The Boogie". Also love the video. This album really captures the purity in Michael's voice, especialy in "Push Me Away". One of my favorites. My first dance performance publicly was in high school to "Things I Do for You", a highly energized song. So I credit MJ and the Jackson for launching me as a dancer and choreographer with this album. And who can forget the energy and driving beat of "Shake Your Body Down To the Ground", especially when they performed it on Midnight Special and American Bandstand, priceless. One of my favorite Jackson albums, thanks Amazon for making it available.
