Reviews:
Wonderful, peaceful... My husband and I heard this CD in a restaurant on Kauai during our honeymoon in 1995 and knew that we had to buy it. It's wonderful, peaceful music, with a couple of upbeat, tap-your-toes songs. The harmonies are lovely, and the slack-key guitar makes you want to go sit in your hammock and just...chill... Ho'ala Our Hawaiian friends first took us to hear the Cazimero Brothers on Friday nights at the nightclub in the old Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu back in the 1970's...Ho'ala was created in 1978.Hear the gifted voices of Robert and Roland on Ho'ala, and more than that, feel the Aloha of the people of Hawaii. Especially when they bring you to The Big Island and Mauna Kea, picture yourself walking the sacred dormant lava field on the Kohala Coast or star gazing at night from the pristine public beach at Anaehoomalu Bay.I've been blessed to travel the world, and one of my favorite experiences is to hear the Cazimero Brothers sing, especially on Ho'ola, recognizing several songs they sang back in the 1970s at the Ala Moana hotel....Aloha nui loa, Jim Garcia Magically soothing! This collection, recorded on Kauai, will immediately captivate you with the first cut's opening primal drumming and chanting then the hypnotic melody and smooth harmonies of Robert and Roland take you right back to the warmth and beauty of the Hanalei Valley. This is my first exposure to the Cazimero Bros.......but it won't be my last. They are able to transition from romantic ballads to upbeat rhythms with amazing skill on their instuments and with vocal harmonies that are so sweet as to bring tears to your eyes for the beauty of it all. They reach right into your soul. Hard to believe this one's been around for 23 years now and I''ve just discovered them now......gotta get some more! These guys are truly talented! Peace of mind This must be the Cazimeros best work, an album so smooth, relaxing and soothing. Sit back and enjoy the excellent arrangements and the magic of their voices. I could listen to "Pua Hone" and "The Beauty Of Mauna Kea" for hours.Give it a try! |
