Country Music CD
Wow! what a great price for a brand new cd! Shipping took approx. 2 wks.
Way too brief retrospective
If you like your country music on the honky-tonkin' light side, you can't go wrong with Neal McCoy. Hits like "Wink," "You Gotta Love That," and "The Shake" (the only new track included ) may border on novelty, but they sure are fun. McCoy's Greatest Hits also presents some top-notch ballads with "No Doubt About It" and a remake of the Casinos "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye." He even manages to stray from the festive and/or romantic mold with a nice slice of acidity titled "If I Was A Drinkin' Man."Unlike most major label country artists who have emerged over the past decade, it took three albums before McCoy got his first big hit with "No Doubt About It" in late 1993. He only released a couple of albums since then, and with a few tracks included here that didn't make it near the country top ten, it would appear this Greatest Hits collection was a little premature. It certainly is skimpier than other recent country sets, at ten tracks totalling 33 minutes in length (this was the unfortunate standard in country music just a couple of years ago). Ultimately, like a lot of McCoy's music, this set is fine - just not substantial.
Neal McCoy at his best!!
I just love this CD!! From start to finish, Neal McCoy puts on a show. I'd recomend this CD for anyone who's not familer with Neal's music, I think he showcased his best songs on this CD. I think the sleeper hit on this album is Now I Pray for Rain, a little heard song from this artist.
Neal Shakes It.
The First 2 Songs I Heard From Neal Where: "No Doubt About It", And "Wink". He Dances The Night Away On "The Shake" Which Also Appears On The "Be Good At It" Album. He Can Sing Ballads Like: "The City Put The Country Back In Me", "For A Change", "Their Playing Our Song", "You Gotta Love That", And "You Can Tell Me Goodbye". This CD Will Never Leave My House.
This CD is excellent!
Every single song on this CD is great. I saw Neal in Merriville, IN not long ago and he was the best entertainer I have ever seen live and I've seen alot of concerts. My 4 yr. old son goes crazy over this CD. Every day to and from preshool (it's a 1/2 hour drive) he has to have it playing. I only wish it also had "If You Can't Be Good, Be Good At It" on there also. Keep it up Neal!!! We truly love you!!!
