Fantastic 2007 UK compilation that features all 23 tracks found on Ronstadt's original Greatest Hits (1976) and Greatest Hits, Vol. Two (1980). Although often overlooked today, Ronstadt was one of the most popular female vocalists throughout the '70s and '80s, helping to usher many musical styles (from Country Rock to New Wave) into the charts. Plus, she's a fabulous singer to boot! She successfully covered a variety of oldies like 'It's So Easy', 'Tracks Of My Tears' and 'Ooh Baby Baby' and managed to make them sound like Ronstadt originals! Features all the hits including 'You're No Good', 'Different Drum', 'When Will I Be Loved', 'Hurt So Bad', 'How Do I Make You' and many more. Rhino.

Reviews:
Outstanding audio quality!
Linda's previous vinyl releases and many of the CD's just didn't have the open intimate sound that this import provides. I was simply blown away when I heard these favorites after oh so many years. They were originally well recorded, but when released on Capitol and Elektra/Asylum vinyl they just didn't have the transparency they do on this release. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this fantastic compellation!
Perfect collection for any Ronstadt fan!
If you are a fan of Linda Ronstadt, you will love this collection-it combines both of her Greathest Hits albums into one fantastic walk down memory lane. If you have never heard any of her music(and I can't imagine who hasn't)this is a perfect introduction. She has the kind of voice that is suited for both uptempo songs and ballads. I recommend this not only for the reasons I've already stated, but for the value as well-for a collection like this, you can't beat the price!
Ripoff
Ok, it's great that you can get Greatest Hits 1 and 2 on one cd, however, if you're looking to get the MP3 version, this is a ripoff! Main page on Amazon is VERY misleading! It shows the combined albums and has an area to click to purchase the MP3 for $8.97, but when you click it and it takes you to the MP3 store, it's only Greatest Hits Vol. 1....NOT both 1 and 2 as the previous page leads you to believe.
Greatest hits 1 &2
------------------------------------------
Volume 1
Many artists assume that they can cross genre and sing as well as a person that specializes in that gender. Very few can and Linda is one of those few. She has tacked all kinds of singing head-on and is a natural.
This is a fine collection or sample of Linda's diversity. Many albums have one or two songs that do not match the mode of the others. You will not find them in this album. It also makes a great driving album. However you can lose track of time while singing along.
Actually if you were to play all of Linda Ronstadt's greatest hits, you would wear the player out. However if you are only going to buy one album, this should be the one. I do wish they could have squeezed "Blue Bayou" on this one. The only advice I can give to you is to beware; these tunes will stick your head.
I have the CD but also bought the audiocassette for the car.
----------------------------------------------------
Volume 2 - I bought it for Blue Bayou.
All of the songs on this album are superior. And they show Linda Ronstadt's diverse range. However if you are buying only one album, buy Volume One. Unfortunately Blue Bayou is only this volume and is a must have to complete early Ronstadt.
Ronstadt's big hits
It is nice to see both volumes of her greatest hits put on one disc.
A comparison of the new version with the old shows that the remastering job has put
a bit of fresh clarity on the tracks. Yeah!
