Rammstein raving
Having to wait 2 years for a new album can lead to high expectations and the danger of the product not delivering...luckily for the astute Rammstein fans, the waiting did pay off. The German Lords of Industrial Rock have delivered, on every level. The music has matured, the lyrics are bold and although they could be perceived as slightly offensive to some,I guess in an era where it is not considered obscene anymore to watch a live war on the tube, we should not be squirmish about Rammstein telling as it is. After all, that's why we fell in love with them to begin with, right? If I would to consider an analogy, this album would be the grown up big brother of "Mutter". A well constructed, powerful album that should not be missing from any rock library worth its name.
this sucks.
If you've at all heard the controversy surrounding this CD, (they made a porn video for a song, I don't remember which one, they're all terrible), don't get suckered in by it, every song is just BORING. If you're going to do controversal things to hype a CD, at least make the music good. The song P****, for example, is just offensively stupid. (I can't print the lyrics in it that are in English 'cause I'd probably get kicked off Amazon for it.) I'm not offended by anything about the CD, but, COME ON Rammstein, this sucks!
Every review I've come across, magazine, online, whatever; keeps saying that this is just amazing stuff, their best stuff ever. Really? Did we get the same CD? 'Cause I don't see it.
What's new here?
Do not get me wrong, Rammstein have produced a few innovative things: Mutter was nice. This however sound like stuff Minsitry did like what 20 years ago. Basically Minsitry and a few others have defined this industrial metal or whatever you want to call it a long time ago. I am not sure that this is that interesting. Die Krupps have a more interesting techno edge and are lighter. Here the whole image is too heavy and difficult to swallow. Laibach tired me also 20 years ago. Still if you like this kind of music, it is not bad. peace Love and Pitbulls was nice.
Rammstein Rocks
This Rammstein CD is one of their best. I love every song on it. They did not disappoint once again.
naaaaah, not really
somehow it is not monumental, not huge, not hard, not heart-tearing. 66% of what rammstein used to sound like; it's just like the old songs, but less.
