Reviews:
she is hot Hey i just reveiwed "paulina" and seeing as how i have nothing better to do i am doing a song by song for this one too!
T1-Holy crap this is the weirdest song ever, dance beat, the chorus is insane it gives me a funny feeling as it sounds slightly off somehow, which what i love about-10/10
T2-I love the vocals in this song especially at the end of each line in the verse, listen to that slight echo in the far right and left, dance beat, the chorus is so fun and i love the harmonies at the ending chorus-10/10
T3-Moving right along, cool intro, fast beat again, doesn't have the oddness of the last two songs but super catchy-9/10
T4-Slower hip/hoppish beat and guitar riff, i like how the strums start and stops, it took a few listens to hook me but it did-9/10
T5-Damn the flow stopped for me, who is that guy in the chorus i dont like that guy or the way it sounds like shes "crying" the vocals out in the chorus, dont like the horns either, its not that bad though but for me its like track 2 in "paulina"-5/10
T6-Fun reggaton song, as far as reggaton songs go this is great, they might be mocking reggaton by singing about dogs haha, very catchy, especially the second verse, i love the little dog barks and the vocal notes in the bridge-9/10
T7-Mod dance beat, i dont mind the guy or the horns as much in this one, its good, i love the line she sings after the chorus especially when she rolls the rr the second time, so hot-9/10
T8-Slower ballad style song, very nice and pretty-9/10
T9-Mod Rock Beat, Fun song, super catchy chorus as usual, i love the bass in the bridge it really makes it happen-9/10
T10-Is there a catchy music machine in the studio? catchy into/chorus, cool guitar riff in the verse, mod beat, again this chorus is so damn catchy-9/10
T11-Slower song again, very pretty, nice chord changes, i like how the notes sustain in the chorus-9/10
T12-Back to Mod Rock, nice guitar solo in bridge, catchy when it's good i don't have much to say-9/10
T13-Ha, don't like the horn in the prechorus, other than that another catchy song, i understand this was a hit? i don't know it's not my favorite but it's pretty good-7/10
T14-I always skip it and listen to T1-0/10
I love the varitey of music on here, but I would like one whole album of songs like T1 or all dance but dance with spice in it. That doesn't take away at all from the slow songs just depends on the mood.
formula that works my ex boyfriend gave me this cd as a gift and at first i never listened to it. It wasn't until we broke up that i started listening to it! I fell in love with it! (memories) Every song seemed as if it was reading my mind. Alot of the songs are about memories, "te quiese tanto" or "dame otra tequila para olvidarte de tu amor" Cleary about relationships and the ups and downs that come with them. I just love this album, Paulina always delivers. The only think i dont like is how she always plays it safe. She never innovates but sticks with whats safe..i would like her to explore other routes even if the outcome isn't rewarding. It as if i have come to expect poppy fun music from her and nothing les or more. Maybe thats what i like about her.. i like how the music bring you up and in end thats what music is designed for.... to play with your senses! Fun, Harmless Maybe it's a musical snobbiness on my part, but I couldn't give this CD five stars. I feel I'd be ripping off all these classic CDs I've reviewed on here. I mean, I liked it. It was fun, harmless, with good beats, and hummable melodies. But at the same time it's so decadent and so foolish, the formula is tried, the songs uneven (even though I have frequently listened to it all the way through), and finally Paulina's voice sucks. But it's cool. The studio saves these shortcomings and it just comes across as a very silly, yet very addicting record, kinda like junk food. Listen to "My Friend, Mi Amigo," for example; the lyrics make you cringe as you sing along to them, but the fact of the matter is that you're singing along to them! And I'm talking about a lot of people I know.
Paulina is not exactly an artist of quality, but you can kind of tell that she was trying to make a really good pop record (she succeeded for the most part) with her 2000 album PAULINA, which made her the international Spanish pop star that she is today and that album rose above all the other ones that year. Then again, she attempted a crossover with 2002's BORDER GIRL, which is one of the worst pieces of junk that I have ever listened to.
Chances are if you like Spanish pop, you will like PAU-LATINA. And chances are if you like Spanish pop, you will already be familiar with it, or at least the single "Te Quise Tanto," which used to get played on the radio every ten minutes for a year. Innovation!!! I'm not a fan of Paulina's voice,That is obvious:she doesn't have voice to sing, but this cd is rarely spectacular. All songs are very different,"my friend my amigo" is the most relevant in this cd.With new sounds,Paulina caught me again. This cd is highly recommendable, because the music is good enough. The cover is very nice and she looks very femenine.
Fast servive Product was excellent and on time. Will be doing business again. A definite A plus. |
