Reviews:

Classic Hazel
Although it is not as great as "Fortress", "Release" is still an incredible album and has the classic Sister Hazel sound. If you like southern rock or old-school alternative, you should pick up some Sister Hazel albums, including this one.

Love this CD-New Sister Hazel Fan
Bought this CD as my first Sister Hazel CD. Bought it because two songs -Release and Take A Bow- were co-written by Pat McGee, one of my absolute favorites. I thought I'd pick it up just to hear those songs. Well, call me a convert. I LOVE the whole CD. Not a bad song on it. It's got a nice Southern Rock sound, great harmonies, and just makes you want to get up and move. Since I bought this in November 2009, I've picked up Live Live, Fortress, Sister Hazel, Absolutely, and Somewhere More Familiar. I also picked up a copy of a Life in the Day, a DVD with about 4 hours of video about who they are and how they got there, with the live show recorded in the Live Live CD. I'm anxious to catch them live soon. I hear they are great fun in concert. So it's not ROCK music, per se, it's not really COUNTRY music. It's somewhere in between, in a place that's all their own. It's good stuff though, check it out. Favorites- of course, Release and Take A Bow (I can almost hear Pat McGee's guitar in the background) Walls and Cannonballs One Life -a love song, makes me wanna ask my husband to dance, in our family room. and too many others.... See Me Beautiful, Run For the Hills, Take it Back, Better Way, Ghost in the Crowd Just buy it. You won't regret it.

A solid Release, thanks to the whole band's efforts
I'll admit to being a bit of a Hazelnut. I've got all of their albums, from their self-titled "white album" to Absolutely, plus both live albums, BAM! Volume 1, and Drew Copeland's solo album. This time, though, every member of the band pitches in with some songwriting effort, sometimes with outside help, sometimes solo. And you know what? It works. Every band member contributes his best effort to this album. What's more, it doesn't sound like a patchwork quilt of sound--it gels very nicely. All the songs are worth listening to--something I *very* rarely say about an album!--and several are excellent. My personal favorite songs on this album are the title track, See Me Beautiful, and Ghost in the Crowd. Take a Bow, Run for the Hills, and Take it Back are also very good. And *all* the tracks on the album are worth listening to multiple times. In the end, this album doesn't quite match up to my favorite Sister Hazel album (Chasing Daylight), but still is an excellent Release from Sister Hazel.

SISTER HAZEL'S DONE IT AGAIN!
SISTER HAZEL DOES IT AGAIN(&AGAIN) WITH THIS NEW CD. RELEASE IS A GREAT LISTENING IN YOUR CAR ALBUM. LOVE THE LYRICS ESPECIALLY SEE ME BEAUTIFUL, ONE LIFE(MY FAVE)AND I BELIEVE IN YOU. NO DISAPPOINTMENTS WITH THIS CD AT ALL. LOVE THIS BAND FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER, EVEN BETTER LIVE!!

another great album from Sister Hazel
This is another great album from Sister Hazel! Although at first listen I wasn't sure about it; it took a few times around in my cd player for me to come around on it and now I can say that I love it! Not as good as Chasing Daylight, which for me is my favorite, but a great product nonetheless.
