Jones For Basketball Jones
I cannot really give a review on the whole entire cd as I did not listen to its entirety, but I mainly got this for basketball jam. I rented this movie recently for my son to watch with me, because I seen it on cable in the late 90s, but had no memory of it really. I developed a SEEEEEEERIOUS jones for Basketball Jones! I had to HAVE this song! Be fair warned: You cannot get this version on MP3. I went to listen to this song on youtube, then it took me to my first exposure and discovery to the original, the original version being a year older than me. I do like the original, but love this better, especially the chorus part. I enjoy Fly Like An Eagle and I Believe I Can Fly. I Can Fly I heard over the radio back in its day. Basketball Jones makes me wanna get jiggy with it ( oh, right! That is Will Smith's department! LOL!) And hearing the brief few seconds in the movie, man, Barry White has a voice ON him!

ANYone can enjoy this one
This is one heck of a soundtrack! Hip hop and pop rock are the primary genres for Space Jam. You have R. Kelly, Seal, Monica, and D'Angelo singing extraordinary songs that anyone can enjoy listening to. My personal favorite song is "Hit 'Em High" by B Real, Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J, and Method Man. It's pretty family-friendly, but it's still got an amazing beat and some creative lyrics. Monica's "For You I Will" is a classic, while R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" is an excellent cover. "Space Jam" by Quad City DJ's is also very catchy, and "Basketball Jones" by Barry White and Chris Rock is pretty funny. The last track called "Buggin'" is . . . weird. It's strange to hear Bugs rap; actually, it's strange to hear the Looney Tunes rap at all. But the rest of the soundtrack is solid. Even if you don't like hip hop, you'll probably like it here.

A pretty solid 90's JAM...
I was eleven when `Space Jam' hit the theaters, and I was in heaven. I was also in heaven bumping this soundtrack up in my bedroom pretending to be a Monstar and totally rapping to every word of `Hit 'Em High', which is still the best track on the album. Sitting back and looking at the soundtrack a good thirteen years later, I am flushed with a good amount of nostalgia, but I am also able to see it for what it is, and while it is a pretty solid collection of 90's hip-hop and R&B, it also contains a fair amount of material that doesn't hold up so well now (and I'm kind of shocked it ever did). I still really like this soundtrack for the most part, but there are some tracks that leave me scratching my head. Let's take a stab at this. Of course, the R&B singles were all stellar, and they soaked up a deserved amount of radio play as well. Seal's `Fly Like an Eagle' and R. Kelly's `I Believe I Can Fly' are still stunning thirteen years later. Fantastic R&B classic's that raise the spirits and contain stunning vocals. Monica's `For You I Will' is a basic yet beautifully done ballad. I've always been a huge fan of Monica, and this was one of my favorite songs from her. All-4-One was one of my favorite groups in the 90's and so I was stoked they were on the soundtrack. Personally, `I Turn to You' is one of those tracks that hasn't aged well, and it is rather standard and has a familiar (not in a good way) feel to it. `Hit 'Em High' is the best thing on here. I was not big into rap at the tender age of eleven, but I knew who these guys were because my older sisters were all corrupting me (haha) so I already loved Busta Rhymes and actually would hide in my closet to listen to this song since my dad had banned all rap music from the house. I still love this song. Quad City DJ's were pretty big ("ride that choo-choo") and `Space Jam' is just as fun (if not regurgitated) as their other music at that point. Much less fun is Robyn S.'s `Givin U All That I've Got'. Yeah, it has that BASKETBALL GAME feel to it, but it's kind of `blah' if you ask me (and completely 90's with no modern appeal at all). I loathe Biz Markie, so his collaboration with The Spin Doctors is atrocious, especially since the original was fine on it's own. Consider me a fan of Salt-N-Pepa, so I LOVE that they are here and there track is wonderful! I was a big fan of Coolio at the time (`Gangsters Paradise' was my favorite song at the time, thanks to major radio play) but `Winner' is kind of weak if you ask me. I also loved Changing Faces and think their compliment to the soundtrack is one of the best here. I have never really gotten the love for D'Angelo, and I just find `I Found My Smile Again' to be an out-of-place track on the album. The humorous tracks included (Bugs's rap and Chris Rock's spoken `Basketball Jones') are both great additions and still make me chuckle. So, all-in-all this is a pretty solid effort and it is one of the best compilations of 90's R&B/Hip-Hip available (and from a Looney Toons movie no less!) so you really can't go wrong with this. In hindsight they could have done a little better, but it's hard to fault them for corralling together a slew of hits that represent a time in music history without taking away from the funky freshness of the films subject.

Space Jam: Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture
Bugs Bunny provides a straightforward rap track, "Buggin'," with the help of Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. The soundtrack, like the film, is full of energy and silliness, but there are moments of genuine sweetness: All-4-One's earnest and soulful "I Turn To You" and R. Kelly's gospel-inspired "I Can Fly."

SPACE JAM
I LOVE THE MUSIC AND I USE IT TO DO CARDIO OFF OF IT. MY KIDS LOVE THE REMIX BY BUGS BUNNY
