Reviews:
essential Dromilly Avenue studio DUB
Some Prince Jammy, some Scientist, some King Tubby-- you get a broad experience of DUB in this two-volume retrospective compilation (with "Dub Gone 2 Crazy"). If you've never experienced DUB before, these essential Blood & Fire discs are a great place to start.
Check the FULL title
The full title is "Dub Gone Crazy: The Evolution of Dub at King Tubby's." That "at" is key: most of these tracks are NOT King Tubby remixes, but remixes done at his studio by his proteges Prince (later King) Jammy, Scientist, and Philip Smart. The general absence of Tubby himself does not mean that this disk is not exceptional--it is. But if you're looking for TUBBY DUBS, you might want to look elsewhere.
Good overview
As with many of the Blood and Fire releases, this is a good look at some of the work of King Tubby and his studio band the Aggrovators. Many of these tracks are clssic dub versions from original songs sung by Johnny Clarke, Livinal Thomson and others. A good starting place if you don't know the amazing work of King Tubby and the Aggrovators.
Great introduction to Dub
The late King Tubby is the lengendary Dub mixer that revolutionized the genre of reggae. Every track is solid. If you love rootsy reggae this is a nice choice.
All in one.
One of my favourite dub album. When i was listening this first time, i can't stop the listening. You must have this, but be carefull when listening this, your mind will blow.
