These are girls. This is metal. The best kind.
You'd have to be "freaks of nature" to come up with stuff this good. Definately a step up from their last album. (literally every song on here is a jewel) These women consist the greatest female metal band in my eyes -and they did it with this album. I've loved this album for a while now and I recently stumbled upon another group called Snake River Conspiracy (who are pretty damn good too) which for some time, unbeknownst to me, had members of Drain STH and Orgy in it. -that explained why I liked them so much. You'd be wise to check them out as well.

Grew on me! (but Horror Wrestling is still the best)
Someone gave me this as a gift. It took me awhile to get into, b/c although I thought it was good, I couldn't really tell the songs apart. And anything that rhymes something like "wave your hands in the air...like you don't care" (which is a sample in "Simon Says") just annoys me b/c that's used in so many songs. Many of the songs have a similar harmony structure, but they are still well written. They do have beautiful harmony and great vocals. Their harmonies are very thick and have kind of a swampy imagery to them. And there are several songs that stand out. My favorite songs are "The Bubble Song", "Crave" and "I Wish". I ended up buying their other album, "Horror Wrestling", and I absolutely loved it! It took me awhile to fully appreciate Freaks of Nature, but this is also very listen-able and enjoyable- I just think that Horror Wrestling is more diverse and their most heartfelt work. But then, that depends on what kind of music you like. Horror Wrestling was more grunge-like. They've been compared to Alice in Chains a lot (true, though I also think they hold their own and don't copy off AIC either). In this album, they're more mainstream and a little more goth. I love Drain STH. I would recommend them to anyone!

Favorite Girl Goth Metal Album
This album absolutely rocks. It stands up to repeated listening very well. It's my favorith Goth, girl album. The tracks and lyrics are pretty much goth, metal. This album has well constructed songs, with good lyrics and killer hooks. The vocals are edgy but not raspy, or overly sweet either. A lot of goth girl singers are too cloyingly sweet for me. The main themes are recognizable and unique to this band. And all of the tracks are excellent! So what's not to like? People who say this is not metal should give this one another listen or 3.

these WoMen Are
cool. They had nothing to say but kind words when they were heckled by a few who thought women could'nt rock at Ozz Fest: And this is before the people had heard them play! (One guy admitted that..) Tight, polished,beautiful women that spit on the notion that women are'nt polished and beautiful creatures who can attAin power.

What can I say about this group? Well they are for real with what they say/play....how many bands do that anymore....surely you aren't thinking emo(ewwww) but yeah, anyway, this group packs a good punch.....at first, with songs like the opening track and number 8's "right through you" "simon says" stands out too....other songs are only ok....but this band is definitely worth everything, these girls rock out and jam out nicely with only a few bad apples in the pie.....check them out if you are into active rock or maybe JUST getting into active rock....A sure-fire win in any case
