Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
One of the most exciting bands from the UK. Last year's super limited 7-inch "Paris" was judged the single of the week in both the NME and The Guardian for its deft combination of clattering percussion and a blissed out, hum along hook. Other songs on this release contain driving punk funk grooves with unstoppable pop melodies, joyous vocals, wonky waltz-like rhythms, and My Bloody Valentine atmospherics. It's all the more impressive when you consider the band recorded this entirely themselves on a laptop.

Fleet Foxes
Fleet Foxes

It's now twenty years since grunge emerged from then culturally isolated Seattle and Fleet Foxes, the eponymous debut album from the city's latest heroes, demonstrates just how much American independent rock has mutated in that time. The five young members of Fleet Foxes make up ...
Alpinisms
Alpinisms

School of Seven Bells' full-length debut, Alpinisms, is best introduced with a little etymology: Mercurial French author Rene Daumal defined 'alpinism' as 'the art of climbing mountains.' Alpinists are both athletes and mystics. They practice 'pure' climbing, hands gripping the c...
Oracular Spectacular
Oracular Spectacular

The term Oracular Spectacular might not mean much, if anything, at all--it's essentially nonsensical--but that doesn't stop it feeling exactlyright. Here is a band that treats dizzy cross-eyed awe and a vast bounding sense of sonic weightlessness as their yardstick, jostling to s...
Day & Age
Day & Age

Four years after the release of their landmark debut in 2004, MTV VMA Award-winning, Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum Island Records group The Killers have completed their fourth album - and first new studio album in two years - DAY & AGE, featuring the new single, "Human" debut...
Only by the Night
Only by the Night

Despite a wave of criticism asserting that Kings of Leon's fourth full-length is "too commercial," Only by the Night may be the closest thing to a pitch-perfect album to drop in 2008. Granted, Tennessee's band of brothers (and one first cousin) takes a turn for the heavily polish...
Intimacy
Intimacy

Bloc Party fans have awaited the arrival of Intimacy, the band's third studio LP, with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Where their debut Silent Alarm (produced by Paul Epworth) was universally touted as a modern classic, 2007's follow up, A Weekend in the City, was patchier....
In Ghost Colours
In Ghost Colours

Far more fun than the eighties actually were at the time, the second album from Melbourne's Cut Copy, In Ghost Colours, is one of the slickest and most varied reinterpretations of the era to appear in the last five years. Selective nostalgia means that every sound from the past i...
Antidotes
Antidotes

It's hardly the cure for anything but Antidotes, the debut album from Oxford's Foals, is a strong addition to the eternal tradition of dance-friendly art rock most recently exemplified by Franz Ferdinand and Klaxons. The five ex-public schoolboys that make up Oxford's Foals are h...
The Rhumb Line
The Rhumb Line

Following a trying summer during which the band dealt with the death of drummer and founding member John Pike, Ra Ra Riot regrouped and recorded this debut full-length, which features nine originals and the best Kate Bush cover ("Suspended In Gaffa") you've ever heard. Their earl...

Reviews:

Friendly Fire in my dancing shoes!
I hella love this album. they are fresh, crisp and totally danceable. I was fortunate enough to be exposed to this new group by a fellow music lover and I just can't get enough. If you are like me, always on the hunt for new talent and fly sounds this is noteworthy. BUY THE ALBUM!!! NOW!!!!! I expect to see them at Coachella 2009 and other summer festivals.

Most Excellant
Most excellent! This is the best new band I have come across in a while. I stumbled across this band while on You Tube searching for a Friendly Fire incident involving the US Army in Iraq. Crisp cool exceptional vocals tied together with a tight arrangement and excellent production. At 57 years old I wish I could still dance on these old war torn knees. I see this band going big time and can not wait until their next album is released.
