Another Night
Another Night

Another Night is formulaic dance pop--no surprises, no exceptions. Each song is exactly like the one before it: female vocal during the chorus, male rap during the bridge, Dick-and-Jane drum patterns. The formula is undeniably catchy, but its shelf life is even more limited than ...

On the wings of the hit club single "Blue (Da Ba Dee)," the Italian group Eiffel 65's Europop has soared into the ever-fleeting good graces of the dance-pop scene. The song is "a story about a little guy who lives in a blue world," and while it seems that the color of the fella's...

Reviews:

90ies SMASH!
My first acquaintance with eurodance music, which I later became a huge fan of & stayed one right up until the demise of the genre in the end of the nineties, was when I heard Corona's smash hit "Baby, Baby" on the radio! In fact I still think it's one of the best dance tracks ever, just like the other Corona's immortals "The Rhythm of the Night" & "Try Me Out". The album also includes some totally great tracks, which were never released as singles. If you were growing up in the nineties & remember the dance music of that time I think it's essential to have this one in your collection - to reminisce that wonderful times & embrace the super positive energy only the eurodance music can generate.

Bangin' Euro tune
The first year I lived in Italy, this was the number #1 song that summer. It was/still is a hot banging club tune. I was suprised it was not a bigger hit in the U.S. The hook is very housey, and the bass line make you want to shake your booty. Every time I hear it I feel like dancing.

extremely self centered
Every song on this song is about her! I mean, give me a break! Almost every song has the word I or Me in it. Try Me out, I want Your Love, I gotta Keep Dancing-even if the song title doesn't have the personal pronoun in it, they are all about her! And her voice is just annoying! She is NOT a good performer-and she made a SECOND album? I don't believe it!

Dreadful, featureless techno/dance
Corona's featureless, tuneless, ugly dance/techno is undoubtedly one of the factors behind my rejection during the 1990s of music on the pop charts. Basically, dance music of the 1990s amounted to music without any musicians, just electronic machines. When I was growing into an adult, I found this music horrible compared with what had been played on the radio just a few years ago. The thumping beats, unlike in 1970s era disco, were not even backed up by some melody instruments such as horns or guitars, with the result that one was given the most inevitable headache by the speed and repetitiveness of the beats in the music. Corona were one of the most prominent examples of this type of dance music, having hits with such songs as "Baby Baby", "The Rhythm Of The Night" and "Try Me Out": all of them hard to sit through on the radio owing to the way in which disco/dance music was stripped to its worst essentials: fast, thumping beats and the thinnest, most monotone vocals you will ever hear: these convey no emotion whatsoever but are likely to be perfect for a nighttime party - which is why I had to switch the radio around so much on Saturday nights. At times, the vocals and music take on imitation rap in order to expand dance music's appeal, but this is, actually, much worse than even the thin female vocals. The changes in mood actually do nothing to give the song any substance or expression: it is more like two people in a party just talking to each other on the phone. Dance music of the 1990s really stands out as one of the most annoying and unpleasant of genres, worse even than britney or the Backstreet Boys. Avoid even if you can' think of anything else to listen to.
