Reviews:
Rare gems A great series is exploring little known works by unheralded composers and it's a great project well-done with wonderful sound. Very good Very good the Compact disc, difficult e to find in other store. Wow indeed Wow, you're right, my friend, this is great music and great performance indeed. I can't believe the endless enjoyment rewarded through repeated listening to this superb Hyperion record. Yes, the main theme of Karlowicz's violin concerto is somewaht extraordinary, and his delicate andante is extremely romantic and beautiful. The charming finale is casted with different variations of the main theme and is, I think, even more compelling than the andante. This violin concerto is a treasure discovered, and it shoud be ranked among Mendelssohn's and Bruch's and Brahms's, and should be performed just as often as those too. Wow: who is this guy Karlowicz This is my first piece by Karlowicz and I was really pleasantly surprised. There are some beautiful themes in this work, especially in the second movement, which is absolutely georgeous. Try it. You may be as happy to have found it as I was. |
