Skyzoo does it again
First off, I actually loved "3 day High" more than this album but this one is really great as well. the track "beautiful decay" alone is worth the price of admission here. the rest of the album is just as hot as other producers hook Skyzoo with some very nice tracks. read other reviews for more in depth info. Just showing some love to one of my fav emcees (no homo)

Great lyrics + great production = "The Salvation". Enough said, it is one of the best albums of 09.

Corner Store Classic, Cloud 9 and now the Salvation!!!
There a very few albums that I call great with so much garbage suffocating the hip hip industry right now. Salvation has turned out to be the exception to that rule. If you heard any Skyzoo work/features in the past, you probably went into this album with very high expectations. Sky has a history of hooking up with dope producers and picking the songs he's featured on very well. I went in with high hopes and Sky not only hit a home run but he exceeded the already high expectations I had for this album. The first thing that pulls you in is the sound of the boom bastic quailty style production reminisence of Hip Hops Golden Era . The beats are all 4.0 to 5.0 star quailty. Sky shows his knack again for getting some of the dopest producers in the game to work with him with guest appearances by 9th Wonder, Black Milk, Just Blaze, ILLmind, Nottz, Eric G, Needlz and Cyrus The Great, none of whom disappoint. The beat selection on this album was outstanding throughout the listen. Sky matches up well with the production. His flow although straight forward and sometimes braggadocious, has more than enough feeling, emotion and storytelling to captivate his audience throughout the entire listen. The consistency of this album is a major A+. Theres really no let downs or skippable tracks on the entire album with great replay value. In the days of Autotune, Crossover radio hits, putting more effort into who you beef with than the quailty of your music and albums being put out barely worthy of 2 star ratings in the forefront of hip hop today, Its good to see artists like this who are dedicated to putting out complete quality hip hop albums that don't sound watered down, lackluster or repitative. After my 4th listen, Skyzoo with Salvation has earned the coveted 5 star rating that I haven't been able to give out in quite a while.

Very tight Cd from the jump!! The 9th wonder production is off the charts!! Sky's lyrics and flow are extra tight!! I'm on the west coast and love it!!!

Great.....Not Classic.
I was surprised to see 4 5-star reviews prior to mine. Anyone who lisens to Skyzoo or reads these reviews obviously appreciated REAL hip hop so gotta give props for keepin this alive, BUT...... This is not a five-star album. I respect Skyzoo and love the lyrical assault he brings to the table, but the flow is downright indistinguishable song-to-song. This affects the replay quality a bit, which is why I brought down a star. LEMME BREAK IT DOWN -Skyzoo's flow is both a con and a pro. His flow is good and doesn't get annoying. He SOUNDS commercial, but spits that underground Realness. HE NEVER changes up the flow, stagnating the album and making each song hard to separate from each other however -The beats are okay for the most part. All are really 3 outta fives except for The Necessary Evils, which I find to be a beautiful beat. Listen to the sample. -As you've probably read in other reviews, hooks are almost nonexistent. He repeats lines over and over as hooks such as on Popular he reapats "Now, Now, Now how papular are you?" 3x's. Its not much of a big deal unless you really focus on hooks. Otherwise you won't find it too annoying. But the hook I just told you about is noticably bad, so there's a heads up. -Skyzoo sounds like he saved up his best material for his debut which was smart (unlike Papoose who's spit all that he had seemingly) -The beats on his past mixtapes were better, plain and simple. He seemed to have a lil more attitude on those beats too. He seems less New Yors and more MC on the album though which has its pros and cons. Those looking for hardcore punchlines and sick New York-ness won't find it very much here. They'll find a dope lyrical MC which surprised the hell out of me to be honest. THE FINAL VERDICT..... If you're like me, and are getting excited for the comback of real hip hop by these young MC's then cop this for your collection. IM STOCKIN UP. If you're a fan of his mixtapes and are willing to see the introspective lyrical side of Skyzoo, then this will be heavenly. The beats and flow match, but there's very little variety. I still say it's a great addition for the current state of hip hop (AND IM NOT ON SKY'S NUTS LOOKIN FOR PUNCHLINES). I reccommend you go to youtube and listen first. I dont say buy it unless its a five star album. This isn't. BUT I GAVE IT 4 STARS WHICH MEANS THE GOOD OUTWEIGHS THE BAD. PS eLZhi's The Feed has NO info about. Its the quiet classic I've been waitin for. DON'T SLEEP
