Reviews:
A Well Told, Entertaining Documentary As a documentary buff and a lifelong Red Sox fan, I found "Rooters" to be a perfect blend of great storytelling, history (well beyond just sports history) and of course all things Red Sox. An excellent film!

"One Citizen's Words"One Citizen's Words Fascinating I saw this show on NESN and had to buy this dvd right away. I cant understand why its on two dvds when it could fit onto one easily. While I cant share the pain of a die hard Sox fan, ive been a die hard fan since the beginning of 2004. I saw Johnny Damon and I was hooked watching it. That year, the curse ended and a new era begun for Red Sox's. I even told a friend at work in 2005 after Sox lost in the playoffs, I bet you Damon will sign with the Yankees. Sure enough he did.
Back to the dvd though. I loved the rich history of the Sox's fans from the Rooters to the Nation it is today. I thought the dvd did a excellent job at the early years up until today, although after 1918 it does seem a bit rushed. Very good dvd overall though and highly recommended if your a Sox's fan. Worse fans in the baseball Rude, arrogant, and slobs. All this BEFORE they won anything. It only took them a century to do it.
Baseball isn't what it use to be. Now its all about hired guns, watered down baseball, wild card, no team
allegence. Baseball had its glory days from the 20's to the 60's. Great history I grew up with the Red Sox and thought I knew a lot about the history, given the fact my Dad grew up in Boston, but I was surprised at how mcuh I did not know. This was a fun and interesting DVD. I only wish there was more of the current players interviewed! rooters birthof thersdsox nation Rooters is a great dvd for red sox fans gives the history of the red sox found very entertaining both as a sports video and historic video if your afan of the red sox you should get this dvd i've been a redsox fan since the 1966 season i do remember the impossible dream team of '67 still root for today. |
