Styles P
I'm glad that he finally brought it back to the realness. Styles P had kinda lost me on his last venture. Every track on his last album sounded like he'd been hanging out a little too much at the strip clubs in Miami, but on this album (Super Gangster, and Extra Ordinary Gentleman)there's no mistaken his menacing flow. Lyrics have never been an issue for Styles, who defiantly boasts about being the absolute best in the rap game, and truthfully after listening to this record you'll understand why. Production is tight from start to ending, and he's one of the very few rappers today that actually has topics other than "The Almighty Dollar" on his damn album. Styles' concepts are pure genius. Thanks for bringing it back once again.

WOW!!!
He caught me off guard with this one... I thought it was gonna be all scruffy terrible beats like the LOX ususally have, but this one has some refreshing uptempo old style, just gangsta beats and Styles goes hard wit the lyrics as usual. But this is a must buy, his best album by far!!!

Styles P (A.K.A. David Styles) third official solo album "Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentleman)" (2007) is a solid hard hitting ninteen track release. Styles enlisted production help from Swizz Beatz, Hi-Tek, Vinny Idol, Cafe Society & Mr. Devine, The Alchemist, Akon, Green Lantern, Poobs, Kid Capri, Dame Grease & Pete Rock. Guest appearances come from Swizz Beatz, Ray J, Bully, The Alchemist, Akon, Max B, Raw Buck, Ghostface Killah, Beanie Sigel, Black Thought, with fellow Lox members Jadakiss & Sheek Louch appearing on one track. Styles start the album off on a light note with with the upbeat Swizz Beatz party track "Blow My Mind" & the laidback feel good "Let's Go" which features an appearance from R & B singer Ray J. "Alone In The Streets" is one of my early favorites, backed by some ominous production from Vinny Idol, Styles kicks some on point thugged out rhymes, getting his grind on solo. Cafe Society & Mr. Devine provide some Godfather like production while Styles & Bully drop some grimy lyrics on "In It To Win It". The Alchemist provides two production contributions on this release, the first being on the standout "All I Know Is Pain" where Styles P reflects on his life and remembers all the pain he has experienced in the game. Styles & Akon have always had good chemistry, so I was happy to find "Got My Eyes On You", where they deliver another memorable collaboration. Styles teams up with Alchemist again on the mellow "Green Piece of Paper" & then rocks "Holiday" with Diplomat associate Max B. "Look At Her" has a throwback feel to it, Styles admires a woman on this cut, and continues to take it back on the Kid Capri produced "Da 80's". Styles theb gets gded up on Vinny Idol produced "Shoot N*****" & "Star Of The State" a tag team collaboration with Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah. Former rival Beanie Sigel makes an appearance on "U Ain't Ready 4 Me". Styles Lox family Jadakiss & Sheek Louch appear on the second to last track repping D-Block on the sparsely produced "Gangster, Gangster". The Roots lead rhymer Black Thought appears on the album's closing track "Cause I'm Black" with both MC's talking about being black in America. Parts of this album have a mix tape feel to them, with Styles letting his lyrics do the work for him using less refined production. Felt this was step up from "Time Is Money", though his debut album "A Gangster & a Gentleman" remains my favorite solo release of his. Styles P provides an on point album full of reality rap with "Super Gangster (Extraordinary Gentleman)".

Yet another solid album from S-P the Ghost - 4.5 stars
Stlyes returns with his 4th studio album from 12/06 - 12/07, not to mentiona bout 3 pr 4 mixtapes in the same time period, making him probably the busiest man in hip-hop over the past year. Like all the other albums, its a solid effort, probably deserving 4.5 stars. With 16 songs, on here, you get one classic, 2 almost classics, 2 are ok, the other 12 are good, with a few being real good songs. Guests aren't too heavy, rapping on 6 songs, and doing hooks on a few others. Like always, most of the album is street oriented, a few radio friendler songs, but for the most part he has the same material he is good at delivering. Production is good as well. Vinny Idol does 3 songs, Alchemist, Poobs, and Dame Grease all do 2 songs, Swizz BEats, Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, Mr. Devine, Akon, Green Lantern, and Kid Capri all do 1 song. Too many holes!
I just typed up my review for "Time is Money" which was superior to this album. I liked this one but it had some really poor songs on it which should have been left off. Most listeners don't need 16 songs and 3 skits if it compromises the overall integrity of the album. Nas made a classic on his first try and it was in todays standards a very short album. For example listen to "Look at her" and you will understand my rating. Also I already bought Beanie Sigel's new album so why do I need their callabo again. Oh and don't let me forget the horrible featured artist Bully and Max B who mess up two good songs. All in all Styles is on point it's just a few things that throw off the enjoyment of the album.
