Reviews:
Very Consistent Roots Feel With Deep Bass Grooves Although this is not Black Uhuru's most famous album, it is among the best-sounding works of the group's enitre discography. This is the same Black Uhuru line-up from the "Dynasty" album (Duckie Simpson, Jennifer Connally and O'Neill Beckford), only "Unification" was released on a lesser known record label, which may account for the lack of attention given to the greatness of this album. I like this Black Uhuru line-up because of the way the bass sounds -- very forward, deep and grooving, and with well-heard basslines that evoke the spirit of roots reggae's most definitive albums. When I put this album on, I can play it continuously without skipping any tracks, and it has been in my CD changer quite often. If you're into lava lamps and incense, this album will be the perfect complement to set a relaxed, herbal and spiritual reggae mood. Get this one while you still can. |
