      Wanderlust

Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Wanderlust is the debut solo album by Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale released by Interscope Records in June 2008. It is his first LP since Institute's Distort Yourself in 2005. The lead single "Love Remains The Same" was released digitally on April 1, 2008. The album was produced by Bob Rock and finds Rossdale collaborating with drummer Josh Freese, guitarist Chris Traynor (also formerly of Bush), bassist Paul Bushnell and keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac. Gavin was the lead singer/songwriter for the UK post-grunge rock band Bush. Their first album, Sixteen Stone (1994), was a huge commercial success. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of extensive, non-stop touring. Fast forward to 2008, married with children with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt fame.

Reviews:

Properly titled CD.....
....as the definition of "Wanderlust" is the instinctive impulse to rove or travel about. After reading some of the reviews that have condemned this CD for not being another Bush sound-a-like, I continue to wonder why anyone would do this. Nowhere on the CD does it indicate that Bush has anything to do with this project. Gavin is simply traveling in a different direction by definition (Wanderlust), which is what any true artist should, and usually does, do sooner or later. Artistry involves creativity and not being stereotyped. If you can identify every song heard by a group before you even know who the group is, that's pretty predictable or stereotypical. I respect Gavin for doing his own thing and not allowing himself to be tied down to one specific music genre. This CD took a few listens to really grow on me, as I am more into progressive music, but it is a very polished and tight sounding CD with great instrumentation and production and more of a relaxed sound to Gavin's vocals than his previous endeavors. He seems to be maturing more as a musician and , call it what you want, this CD is one that you can really enjoy if you can be objective and listen to it as Gavin, the musician, and not Gavin, the lead singer for Bush or Institute.

HAD TO HAVE IT!
After hearing the song "Love Remains the Same" on the movie trailer of Nights in Rodanthe, I knew that I had to have this CD! When I first watched the movie trailer I was captivated by the passion and intensity of the song. I didn't know who sang it or what it was called. But what a great song! I think that the rest of the songs are pretty good too (although some are a little too heavy for me). Great CD!

Wonderlust is WonderFUL
When I found out that Gavin Rosdale was once the frontman of "Bush" I knew this was going to be good! This CD is filled with good choreography and sound, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because one of the songs is repetative and frankly annoying. Other than that I enjoy turning up the volume in my car to listen to Gavin!

Beautiful!
I love this album. I loved Gavin Rossdale when he was Bush and I am not disappointed with his solo album. "Love Remains The Same" is to die from!

Gavin on his own
I liked Gavin when he was the lead singer for Bush but I love his first solo album more than ever. I have sampled a few songs and am amazed and love his sound. I have seen the video for All that Remains and feel it is wonderful and done in very good taste and shows the real Gavin or at least musically anyway. I am a fan of his wife Gwen and her band as well. I have been searching of this CD as ever since seeing the first video released I fell in love with Gavin and his music all over again. WAY TO GO GAVIN I HOPE TO SEE YOU ON TOUR SOON!
