Reviews:
easily the lamest song in existence This song is in no way better than the horrible BritneySpears/NSync/BackstreetBoys denomination. It has a terrible beat, melody, and also a terrible music video if ever you've had the misfortune of seeing it. It horrifies me that this song even got airplay, not to mention its multiple weeks at the top spot! What is this world coming to? I could make a better song with a blade of grass and a mammoth's tusk. There is no way this completely awful song deserves to be on the radio! I loathe it with all my soul! I'm ashamed to be in the same country as this single! Never buy this, listen to it, or even look at it. The song is so terrible. ABSOLUTE TRASH How can this music even get airplay!? It is so annoying, unskillful, has a terrible beat, and is no better than the Spears/NSync/98 degrees denomination. I am appalled that this song actually was at the number one spot for ten weeks or whatever. If I was allowed to hold this single in my hands it would probably be discombobulated within seconds because I loathe it so much. Terrible video for this song too. Never buy this awful single. Mariah Can Write and Sing!!!!! Pay no attention to the haters who leave negative messages. It's wierd they even took the time to write negative stuff but I am wierd too so I will write a little negativity. These people are J.Low fans who can't accept the fact that Mariah will always be better in the world of music than J.Ho could ever be. so so I liked the song 'we belong together' the best. None the less, the cd is pretty cool. Best Song Of 2005- - - - Superb Vocal Production. Mariah's albums during 1999-2003 were largely flops, most notably "Glitter" and "Charmbracelet". Then in 2005 came the album "The Emancipation Of Mimi". The first single "It's Like That" was a modest success and hailed the return of Mariah, but then she released this. "We Belong Together" started a long reign at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and became her 16th #1.
I was amazed by this song, I have never really been a fan of Mariah's though now I definitely plan to buy more albums from her. This song totally caught me out, I found the first single off this album rather average yet this song was simply stunning.
I picked this CD up just yesterday and have been listening to it ever since. I think the remixes are amazing as well, especially the "It's Like That" one featuring Fat Joe. But as a song this has some glorious moments, the most distinguished one being the stunning bridge. Her vocal range is an amazing 5 octaves and the bridge is no trouble for her. She seems to be singing in the whistle register. The chorus is really nice to and the piano intro is superb. The way she crafts other songs into this one is great and shows a little bit of diversity.
- "We Belong Together (Main Version)" 10/10
- "We Belong Together (Reconstruction Radio Mix)" 10/10
- "It's Like That (Remix ft. Fat Joe)" 10/10
I thoroughly recommend this song to anybody though the remixes are perfect the original hit is in a class of its own. She may have stiff competition from Madonna's next single "Hung Up" later in the year as the best song of 2005 but for now it is Mariah's year, and time to shine.
