Emerson Drive
Emerson Drive

Watch out, Rascal Flatts. Here comes Emerson Drive, rolling out of Canada with an eye on your formula: rock masquerading as country, high-octane energy, layered harmonies, and enough testosterone to power a truck pull. While they wrote none of the material on this debut disc,...

Still Feels Good

Rascal Flatts has always been an anomaly in country music. Signed to the Disney label Lyric Street, they arrived in 2000 as essentially a trio (winning lead vocalist Gary LeVox fronted pin-up boy Joe Don Rooney on electric guitar and Jay DeMarcus on bass) that traveled and record...

Lady Antebellum

There has been a buzz in Music City since mid-2006 when Lady Antebellum performed together for the very first time. The trio- comprised of Hillary Scott (vocals), Charles Kelley (vocals), and Dave Haywood (vocals, acoustic guitar, keys)- says their name, "Lady Antebellum," repre...

5th Gear

Like his friend Vince Gill, Brad Paisley has achieved the often-difficult feat of reconciling being an entertainer and world-class guitarist. He's proven that on four admirable albums, and 5th Gear follows in that vein. Certainly "Ticks," an airy, radio-friendly ditty, is not the...

On his sophomore CD, Jason Aldean, the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist for 2006, continues to rely on a proven formula--recording several John Rich co-writes, and reprising producer Michael Knox--while pushing harder on the rocking side of his Georgia roots. A p...

Reviews:

Great progressive country music & lyrics
Really like these guys' sound and lyrics. Excellent music you can enjoy with your kids and not worry about soiling their or your mind with gutter junk. Like their other CD's as well. Great talent!

i still have not received this item
Dont know I ordered this item a while ago and still have not received it

Great talent, not the best material
After the first album I was really hoping for another phenomenal disc (I still listen to the debut often). Brad Mates' tremendous vocals are still there but overall the album just didn't strike a really strong chord with me. I didn't want to review this when I first got it in order to give it a chance. After over a year it has grown on me but still it's only 3 starsjust hasn't clicked with me. "Last One Standing" was a song I really enjoyed and I do enjoy the ballads and "Still Got Yesterday" has preserved some of Brad's passion and edginess in his voice. Unfortunately, the mastering is too slick and they compress almost all of the emotion and personality out of his voice on most of the other material. I do enjoy pop-type country so I did find when I played it after a long absence that I did remember the songs and could sing along with some of the parts, so it wasn't completely unmemorable. Apparently Lonestar thought "You're Like Comin' Home" and "I'll Die Trying" were both good enough to record on their latest effort. As much as I love Richie McDonald's voice, I think Brad does them better, but warmer more natural production would have better showcased it. I should have known when their last single off the debut album "Only God (Could Stop Me Loving You)" was released in a more compressed, less emotional and passionate mix for the single and video that they had fallen into the hands of some very misguided producers. Emerson Drive's strength was the awesome voice of Brad and the lovely harmonies of this bandmates. Clean up Brad's vocals this way and it just sounds like country boy band.

One of my favourite country bands...
I don't think there is much to add...if you read the other reviews you'll clearly see that this is a cd worth purchasing. I have had the pleasure of seeing the guys at a county fair about 2 years ago, and I was in awe of their performance. They are just amazing all around. I am going to see them again in a week, and I couldn't be more excited! My favourite song on this cd is "Running Back To You", but I like every song on this album...Pick it up, you won't be disappointed.

Great Guys & Great Music
This is a super CD!! Anyone who doesn't care for country music will also like this. They have their own style. My husband does not care for country music but really likes their music. We saw them in concert at a fair and they are wonderful. We even got to meet them when they were taking photos after the concert. They did not mind taking the time to talk to us. You do not see that often.
