Prodcut Description: [More Information ...] The Rounders are a highly creative, young, alternative roots band. By adeptly fusing a variety of traditional music forms with elements of modern music, they capture and enhance the traditions of American roots music while keeping it stripped down, raw, and honest. With refreshing originality, the group has fashioned a distinctive sound by tinkering with familiar forms of music in new and unique ways. Piecing together layers of acoustic and electric blues, Southern folk, backporch country, and ragtime melody, The Rounders have created a true tapestry of American roots music for a new generation.

Reviews:
WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're reading these reviews, please listen to the samples and check out their website. The Rounder's sound is a great mix of styles. Some similarity to a mix of Cream and The Fabulous Thunderbirds. Every song is catchy and upbeat. I only hope they build on this great CD and get some well deserved air play. Rounders I just bought this cd today and I've already listened to it all the way through a handful of times. It reminds me of recent Clutch cds like Robot Hive/Exodus. It bears an even closer resemblance to Clutch's currently unreleased From Beale Street to Oblivion. Clutch is my favorite band and I can't think of a higher compliment of them than to say they remind me of Clutch. It is hardly a carbon copy of Clutch though. It is a very unique effort. It really is an amazing cd. I can't wait to listen to it when I have time to dissect it. I say buy it if you can. Wow...all I can say is wow.... I am a musicologist by trade, and when I heard this disc my jaw dropped to the floor!!! These five young men seamlessly integrate virtually every important genre of American music into a rich tapestry that is both interesting and unique.
If you buy one album this month; heck, this year, buy this one. You will not regret a single moment on this 13 song masterpiece!!! |
