Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
An “im up, what more do you want from me?” sticker hideously controls the back of Ayden Kosacov’s bedroom door. In his mind what started as a joke is slowly becoming his ‘glorious and underrated mantra’. Ayden Kosacov is alive, and that is about all you can say. In the throws of a mundane and jejune life Ayden is slowly coming to the realization that if all his world is a stage than he wouldn’t care if he did or did not miss the final scenes. Through an almost ‘accidental’ suicide attempt and the recovery that soon follows, Ayden learns that there is more to living than just being alive. Finding his way through diverse experiences and people he comes to terms with God, his family, and finally himself. The Orphaned Anything’s style of writing is in the likes of Dennis Johnson (Jesus’ Son) and Dave Eggers (A Heartbreaking Work Of Staggering Genius) and yet designed to give life lessons, encouragement, and hope like books by Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist) and Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz).

Blue Like Jazz: Nonreligious Thoughts on Christian Spirituality

I never liked jazz music because jazz music doesn't resolve. . . . I used to not like God because God didn't resolve. But that was before any of this happened. In Donald Miller's early years, he was vaguely familiar with a distant God. But when he came to know Jesus Christ, he pu...

Reviews:

AMAZING BOOK
I loved this book. This is now my favorite book of all time now. Sense of realness and ending hope... great book.

This book should be More Known
Stephen Christian (of the band Anberlin) writes his first book and when you first open it up and begin to read, you're surprised with a different style of writing. It's been done before I read somewhere (on here, I believe) but it's not a common style of writing. This book is based off of Anberlin's song "Alexithymia" (or the book may be the basis of the song rather) with theme of "There's more to living than being alive." The main character goes through the motions of a dull life, figuring he's experienced all of what life has to offer. One night after finding some wine (I believe), he starts to reenact some scenes from a movie and one way or another nearly commits suicide. He goes into rehab where he learns this lesson that life does indeed have more to offer you if you just look, seek, and run in the right place. Fantastic book that I cannot wait to read again.

Couldn't put it down
The author's story of a young man struggling to find hope is inspiring. I found encouragement as the central message of the story. It's about finding hope and peace within. The author's style of writing is modern, easy to read and so relatable. The young generation can relate to this book.

A wonderful book
This book is a wonderful, inspiration, and motivational piece of artwork. I truly loved and was moved by the story while at the same time was taught on Stephen's philosophy of life. This could be my favorite book if it had more detail. It seems like the story was cut short and focused on more transformation and set up than the continuation of life. 'The Count of Monte Cristo' Proves that a drawn out story can remain interesting even after the main even. I also think that it could teach you so much more by talking about situations experienced later in life. But I realize also that Stephen Christian is a young writer, and he is smart enough to dare not create experiences he knows little of. Great book. It is a must read.

Philisophical
This book wasn't what I expected it to be. I figured, it would be like any other autobiography I read until I got a few chapters in, and it was more like reading this kids ongoing thought process or his journal. The first half seemed to be about his philosophies and events that made him think the way he does. It feels slow but it builds up. The second half of the book is then like a story of events. And what he's learned from them compared to his previous feelings/thoughts. It was hard to get used to at first because the text was in terrible grammar and used abbreviations and symbols through out the text. Once you get used to the fact you're not reading something grammatically correct and read through it, it's incredibly enjoyable. I recommend reading this book just a chapter or two at a time to let it really soak in all the information you're getting (even though it's only 114 pages long). Overall, this book had a lot of great ideas in it, but could have been organized or developed just a little bit more.
