Zack & Miri find humor in Pornography
I'll say up front, I've been a huge Kevin Smith follower since Clerks. I've always been able to see something in his films that delighted or at least amused (with the exception of Clerks II). So, this review is colored by that prejudice. Overall, Zack & Miri is not really about pornography or the porn industry. Like most of Smith's films the setting typically acts only as a vehicle for his characters witty banter and bathroom/geek humor. In Smith's latest foray, he also attempts to reach back to some of the emotional aspects explored in "Jersey Girl". While the balance between humor and pathos tips towards the humor, at times the romantic scenes seem a little forced and unbelievable. I found myself at times wishing that it would move away from Zack's and Miri's interpersonal angst and return to the full ensemble and the actual antics of filming the supposed, "porno". For that is where the magic is found in this film. While not on the same level as "Dogma" or "Chasing Amy", "Zack and Miri make a Porno" is worthy of a viewing as long as you are not easily offended by sexual and scatilogical humor.

i was thinking the exact same thing
awesome song during the 'love' scene - i recognized it as Live right away but didnt wait for the credits and its not on the s-track. i think it is 'i alone' or 'all over you'. I'll have to check itunes. the song 'lightening crashes' is good too...

Great soundtrack but when zack and miri make love for the first time, there is a song playing in the background. I believe it is a song by live. Does anyone know for sure?

This is definitely a good soundtrack but they are missing the best song! The song that is playing when Zack and Miri walk into the reunion "let me clear my throat". I'm not sure what it is called or who does it, but it's an awesome song! Not on the soundtrack! Where is it? If anyone knows the name of that song, let me know!
