Seiko Sportura Watch
Before buying the Seiko Sportura watch, I read ALL the Seiko watch reviews on Amazon. My problem is I scratch the face on all my watches, they never last long. So the last Seiko I bought at a local store, I scratched the face within a week. One of the reviews indicated that Seiko made NO watches with sappahire faces. The confusion was reinforced with product descriptions put out by Amazon It would say it had sappahire face, then you read further it said no. So I double checked the Seiko web site. That was a little confusing to navigate thru. Low and behold, Sportura came up with Sappahire faces. It didn't have titanium bands but that's a trade off. Went with next day delivery, and got it the next day. As for price, the local stores said they had a great deal at 30% off, well paying less than 1/2 made me one happy camper. As for the watch, the face does not have a scratch, and this is well over a month. The band is taking a slight beating. I went to the store to look at and try on the watch before buying . Then I bought from Amazon. I knew nothing about how to buy a watch, using the internet, I was able to determine what I wanted. I would recommend for those who do not know anything about buying watches, to do some research. It's funny while at the airport, I found a magazine on watches. Not ready for Omegas, Rolexs, etc. But I think I did well.
watching the time go by
this is an excellent watch.just two things,firstly amazon will not ship this item to ireland[you need a friend in usa],and secondly read your manual first before you change the date.i found the manual not very friendly and spent a week trying to set the date.but it is a lovely watch.enjoy.
Nice watch
The watch is a little heavy on my wrist. But, the design is nice. I can
use the alarm clock as clock in a different time zone. Rugged construction. Overall, a nice timepiece.

I got this watch after growing tired of the styling of the Seiko auto relay watch I had for about four or five years. I came across this watch and was very impressed with the classic diver styling with a modern twist. This watch is very tough and looks quite expensive. The crystal has not gotten a scratch on it. I usually do not care for chronograph watches as they look too busy. This one actually looks good and is very useful. I especially like the alarm feature and find myself using it for everything.
I miss the kinetic and autorelay features of my other watch and wish it had those along with the perpetual calendar of another Seiko I have. Other than features that I wish it had there are really no cons to this watch that I have found.
The main things I like about this watch are the screw down crown, alarm feature, cool styling, nice band, saphyre crystal, double locking clasp.
So, based off the features it has and the fit and finish I would say it is an excellent watch I look forward to wearing for years to come.
