Reviews:
Nice watch, shame about the water resistance
I have almost this same watch. Mine has the identical case and band, so this review is relevant for this watch too. I've had the watch for 7 years and it worked great for the first 6 years. For 6 years I've treated this watch like crap. Mountain bike crashes, snorkeling, swimming, hot tubs, skiing, showers, whatever. No scratches on the crystal and the titanium finish looks great still. Kept nearly perfect time, I would always change time-zones before I noticed the time being off.
The battery lasted 6+ years! When the battery finally died last year, I took the watch to the local Tissot dealer and had them replace the battery. They said "We can change the battery but can't warranty that the seal will be maintained". Well, of course I thought: "they are just trying to cover their butts".
Little did I know. Within 6 months, the watch was dead having let water into the mechansim. What a PITA. I don't know if I should blame Tissot or the jeweler. Now I'm looking for another watch. So far I haven't found any manufacturer that makes an inexpensive watch that has both a titanium case and a sapphire crystal.
So, sorry for writing a book here... but the net is that I like Tissot and they are clearly better than Seiko, Casio, Timex, Armitron, etc. And they are cheaper than Tag and the other boutique brands. In the last 6 months I've broken 2 Timex watches and a heart-rate monitor. I guess if my Tissot lasted 6 years, it was worth it.
Hmmm if I get a Tag and it lasts for 15 years then it would be a good deal too... probably not worth the risk though.
I think I'll get another Tissot. But next time I'm going to send it back to Tissot for a new battery.
Excellent service, watch is fantastic
The watch is exactly as described and arrived in a timely fashion. Would definitely buy from Amazon again.
100m water resistence
I called customer service to ask if the seal is covered under the warranty. After talking with the warranty department, the man I talked
with said he was assured that the seal was covered under warranty. I asked
him to e-mail me this specific assurance. He said I should get it directly from the warranty department and he gave me their phone number.
I called this number and was told flatly that there was no
warranty coverage for the seal. This says the watch purchase should be
rated a zero but Amazon doesn't allow that option.
nice watch
I luv the watch! SAme thing though.. No manual. HOwever you can go to Tissot's webpage, and search for the manual there. Amazon didn't provide any help in respects to the manual. Otherwise, if the manual came... i would have given it a 5.
No user manual?!
Just received mine today via 2-day shipping. The watch package is very nice. However, there is no user manual included. The watch has a lot of functions so without manual it is almost impossible to figure out how to use it. I may have to return this watch to Amazon.
