Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Angelina values close friendships, but she's soon to discover that maintaining healthy friendships can require a good deal of effort and maturity. The joy of giving reluctantly replaces remorse when Angelina donates a beloved doll to charity in "Ballerina Rag Doll," and jealousy incites a lie that threatens to grow to massive proportions in "Angelina's Surprise." "Arthur the Butterfly" illustrates the concept that if you love something, sometimes you must set it free, and "Alice's Present" shows how an innocent mistake can undermine a solid friendship it it's concealed. Two "Little Stars" live-action segments help beginning ballerinas feel more comfortable about their first ballet class and offer a glimpse of the imaginative world of dancing in character. Reviews:
Balletmom
I love the Angelina Ballerina video series. They are very inspirational to young dancers.
This is being rated thru the eyes of a 4 year old!!
My review would be very different...my 4 year old granddaughter loves angelina!! In fact this little mouse from England has taken her from a die-hard princess to wanting to be a ballerina!! After spending hundreds on her princess wardrobe we are now buying all the ballet garb! (can't wait till she's a teenager! ugh!)I don't have any idea if i should thank these inexpensive DVDs or hate them...haha! Main thing is she loves em!~! We don't have the Sprout Channel on our Dish TV so i can't tape them for her..at this price i may as well purchase them. Now i'm saving for the ballet classes..haha...does it ever stop???? 5 stars!
Inspiring series for aspiring young dancers!
My 4-year-old is just beginning to get interested in ballet and dance and the Angelina Ballerina stories and DVDs provide loads of inspiration whilst serving to entertain at the same time.
There are 4 episodes altogether [12 mins each] - "Ballerina Rag Doll," "Angelina's Surprise," "Arthur The Butterfly" and "Alice's Present." Also included are two live-action segments: "Helping Younger Children to Dance" and "Dancing in Character."
The animated stories remain faithful to the source material by Katharine Holabird, and retain the original illustrations by Helen Craig. The quality of the animation is above average, lending an almost real-life quality to the little mice, and the language is clear [British accent is used here]. In between the animated episodes, there are scenes of actual dance lessons, either ballet, folk or others.
I'd highly recommend the Angelina Ballerina series of DVDs to aspiring young dancers, those who love immersing themselves in a world inhabited by adorable little mice and this is probably suited to preschoolers and up.
Perfect
This DVD was in perfect condition and my daughter loves it. I will buy from this seller again.
Angelina Ballerina and a granddaughter
Another hit from Angelina Ballerina and her friends (and all-important dance teacher). My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter loves Angelina Ballerina and watches the movie many, many times.
