Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
An expanded and more polished version of Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames was recorded at an outdoor performance in London's Hyde Park. While much of the material is familiar to Flatley fans, the production is superior in every way. It's better photographed and the editing is less frenetic. The individual segments are sharper, more self-assured, as is Flatley, who also produced and directed this version. (He also demonstrates his talents as a flutist--maybe he should call himself Lord of the Renaissance.) The outdoor setting also makes the show feel less like a Vegas act, though the proceedings have about as much relation to their Celtic folk roots as the Broadway musical Cats has to the T.S. Eliot children's poems on which it was based. --Richard Natale

If you liked Lord of the Dance, you'll love this too
I got Lord of the Dance on video more than 10 years ago. I've seen/listened to it so many times I'm surprised my DVD isn't worn out. I liked the music so much that I bought the Lord of the Dance on audio CD so I could have a "clean" copy of the music by itself.
I've known about Feet of Flames for many, many years but for some reason I never "bothered" with it. I recently saw some video clips of Feet of Flames on youtube and was surprised that the music was the same music from Lord of the Dance. I just assumed Feet of Flames would have all new music. (Because Riverdance was very different from Lord of the Dance.)
Without hesitation, I ordered Feet of Flames on DVD. By now, I've watched/listened to it several times and have watched the additional materials as well.
If you liked Lord of the Dance, (especially if you liked it for the music), then you absolutely want to add this to your collection.
Feet of Flames is amazing! It's quite a bit longer than Lord of the Dance, but all the additional time is a welcomed change from Lord of the Dance because it adds so much new content that you will not have seen before.
The video production quality is top notch as is the audio. The stage is much bigger than Lord of the Dance which affords more opportunity to put more dancers on stage at the same time. Both horizontally AND vertically! Yes - the stage in Feet of Flames has multiple vertical levels.
The costumes are rich and vibrant, the women are sleek and gorgeous, the music is hypnotic, and of course, the dancing is mesmerizing to behold!
The hour-long documentary that shows the preparation for the Feet of Flames recording is a fantastic bonus. You get to go behind the stage and watch them practice the dancing, watch the road crew set up the stage, and get all kinds of insight from Michael Flatley about his career. If you like this stuff even a little, you will love the bonus materials.
My only complaint is that I didn't buy this YEARS ago!
Best of Michael Flatley
I love all of Michael Flatley's show but i believe this is my favorite. This show is amazing all the way through you get a taste of everything from dance to flute playing. The story itself is great and the violin dueling is terrific. Buy it you won't be disappointed.
Not so happy
The video took approximately 9 weeks to get here!!! ;-( Otherwise the VHS was in great shape!
Michael Flatley
This show is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It turned out to be a great gift for someone who is interested in dance and performance arts.
Good Purchase
Feet of Flames is a wonderful show; it's bright and beautiful. A definite work of art; it is however very similar to the show, Riverdance and Lord of the Dance. The colors and performance is awesome; in my opinion definitely worth watching.
