After the huge success of her critically acclaimed album "Loose" which allowed her to be the number 1 artist in global sales in 2007, Nelly decides to do her musical dream of making her first full Spanish language album. She had done many successful collaborations with artists all over the world in all different genres, but the collaborations with the Latin artists left her with this huge desire of expressing herself in this language, and that is how this new album was born. "Mi Plan" (My plan) is Nelly's 4th studio album which reflects once again her artistry, diversity and the uniqueness of everything which she writes. The album, as all her albums, is written and co-produced by her in collaboration with top writers and producers, as well as young new talent she believes in. She doesn't feel this is a "Latin Album", she says that this is just her soul speaking in Spanish, as all her albums "just music for the world". Music is a universal language and in this album she has brought the world together, working with musicians, writers and producers from all over the globe. The album is filled with fresh, enthusiastic, fun, freeing, unique, strong and passionate songs that reflect the great moment that Nelly is currently experiencing. The first single of this album, "Manos al Aire" (Hands in the air or I surrender), is a mid-tempo song that brings you in faster than you can understand to what she is trying to tell her loved one. The tip of an iceberg that will outlive the barrier of language, culture and time!

I borrowed it from the library, and I listened to it a lot in my car. I love it. Great and catchy. Love listening to it even though I don't know much Spanish or Portuguese. Fabulous!
As soon as I got a message from Amazon advertising this material I was looking forward to buying all the MP3's from the Album. I could hardly wait to have add the music to my Zune and as soon as it as done I was so pleased with her work, almost every song I heard was instantly a favorite. I gotta say only two songs I don't like as much but I don't necessary "hate" or skip every time I play the whole album. My favorites are "Suenos", "Mi Plan", "Bajo otra luz", "Vacacion", "Silencio", "Fuerte" and "Como lluvia".

Nelly has done it again! If you're a true fan, you follow your singers when they venture into something new. If you're not big on spanish songs, then this is not the album for you. If you're up for new things, then check it out! I love it! Nelly's best!
I was a lukewarm Nelly Fan during her I'm Like a Bird and Folklore era, but when I bought Loose I was hooked. It was a fun album yet with some sad moments that really made you feel the words and the music. Overall an excellent pop album. This album is sooo good and coherent-the stories the songs tell are all interrelated, I love the guest stars and I really like this overall from track 1 to 12! If you're expecting Loose 2 in Spanish its not but what it is-is good! I'm glad she decided to do something different and not just give us a loose 2! I love it!
I have been a fan of hers since "Loose" but after hearing this CD, I actually went out and bought all of her other CDs just to have. This CD really is beautiful. Highly recommended, so make it a part of your plan to buy it :) |
